- Q:Does anyone have a schematic?
- on the wires it should tell you want the wires are four you should have a red wire black wire.the red is live wire and the back wire is earth wire.and the four you got left is speaker wires
- Q:I am changing an outside light with a inside wall switch there is 2 cables going to the outside box. ( 3 wires -white w/red line wire and black wire and green ground wire ) other cable 3 wires is white wire and black wire and green ground wire.On the inside switch is 3 wires white wire a black wire a green ground wire.for some reason it is not working, can any one tell me how to wire and or test for power. thank you
- In a normal 120V system you will have Black(hot) White( neutral) Green or bare copper(ground). So the green wire are wired together with a pig tail to the ground on the switch (if grounded) the white wire, if neutral, should be wired together also and no connection to the switch. The black wire should be wired to the switch and the other black wire to the other side or pole of the switch. But I think you are wiring to an existing switch, meaning it controls another light already. In that case the three wires will be White(hot) Black(to the existing light) green or bare copper (ground). To find out check the switch wires white to ground If you get 120V on the white that means you do not have a neutral at the switch, or what is commonly called light wiring. With out a neutral the out side light will not work. So you have to pull wire to the switch to get a neutral. Good Luck.
- Q:How does this work? Does the missile drag a wire?
- Wire Guided Missile
- Q:I made a kill switch for my car. All I need to do now is cut the wire that goes into my engine control module and join it with the switch I made. Would it be fine if I just use wire nuts or some sort of tape to join the wires instead of soldering? The instructions say quot;Step 6: Attach the killswitch wires one to each side of the wire you just cut. Step 7: Tape up all new connection.quot; It says to tape the new connections, but should I use exactly?
- Sure thing. Wire nuts work fine. I've used them a bunch on my project cars. However, if you want a connection that won't be affected by water (rain and/or humidity) and a connection that is permanent (won't come loose) use automotive crimp type connectors covered with heat shrink tubing or liquid electrical tape.
- Q:I've been asking questions to my mom about what is inside the new receiver and then suddenly i asked my mom, what is inside a wire? She didn't know what was inside a wire so i asked if i can post my question on yahoo answers, and then she said yes so i did it.
- An electrical wire is composed of a copper (sometimes steel, aluminum, or other metal) core, surrounded by a plastic cover to insulate it. The newer fiber optics wires for communications contain a translucent plastic core for transmitting light signals.
- Q:I've seen people use it as ...umm..energy generating...majiggy.. (but not alot of energy) including a magnet/something about a magnetic field or some sort?and instead of MAGNET WIRES can i use SPEAKER WIRES?(RADIO SHACK)
- Magnet wire is just solid copper with a layer of varnish for insulation. Speaker wire would work, but you could not wind the wire as tightly due to the thicker insulation. also the wire is very flexible and will not stay in place very well. Also, if the coil gets hot, the insulation on the Speaker wire will start to burn or melt. .
- Q:Or can stranded wire of the same gauge be subsitituted for solid wire without any consequences? The reason I ask is because its for a massive 4kJ capacitor discharge circuit, and I need all the energy delivered to the power coils im using, cant afford to have much leakage inductance.
- You question about Inductance seems illogical. I can't imagine how a straight wire will affect a sudden discharge of current unless the wire is coiled (inductor) or have a shield attached to ground(capacitor). I believe the difference between the two wires are their direct current resistance which is very negligible if the wires are just a few feet long. The Capacitor that will discharge current directly to a coil is a 'tank circuit' and is a type of oscillator. Most likely, The inductance you will experience is caused by the power coil itself that feeds it back to the capacitor and vise versa. If that is true, I recommend a reverse shunt diode across the coil and a series diode between the capacitor and the coil.
- Q:Okay so my question is how would I wire these in a ported box with 2 terminals on each side of the box? Also, is the quot;Bridged Wirefeatured in the diagram negative speaker wire? Thanks.
- It's a misnomer to use the term bridged in wiring subs. They should call it a jumper wire, or something similar. It's a minor detail, but it leads to novices thinking bridging is something done with subs -- it's not, it's the amp. Although since mono amps are becoming more and more common bridging is becoming a thing of the past as mono amps aren't bridgeable. The way I would do it would be to wire each sub to its respective terminal with the coils in series for 4 ohms.
- Q:does anyone have a wiring diagram for a rccb or can you explain how to wire one up . as an rcd has a wiring for connecting to earth but an rccb does not have that.
- They come with a wiring diagram. The RCCB, the circuit breaker, is installed in the breaker box, and does not need a ground connection. Exactly how it is wired varies with country. Follow the directions that come with the breaker. But typically, you need a jumper wire to connect neutral from the bus to the breaker, and then the output has two connections for hot and neutral, that are attached to the wire to the outlet. The RCD, the outlet, is installed in an outlet and needs a ground connection, not for the breaker part, but to carry the ground on to the appliance.
- Q:How could you relate greater wire length resulting in greater resistivity to the context of home
- Greater wire length will certainly give you a higher resistance. Since heat is measured in watts, and watts (W) =I^2R, where I=Current and R= resistance, then if you double the resistance of a wire (by making it twice as long) you also double the ammount of watts lost in the wire. Since watts equates to heat, this ammount of heat will make the wire hotter. If you use an extension lead, and wind it round a drum, it can get very hot indeed.
