Q: Okay so for the past few years I've been making latch hook rugs. They take up too much space and I was wondering if there is a way to sell these? I don't really have people to sell them to, and I was wondering how one would go about getting rid of these projects while not throwing away all your cash. I am afraid to sell them on OKorder because someone might accidentally be deceived and think that it was an unfinished latch hook kit, and be surprised to find a completely finished rug at their doorstep. Any suggestions?
There okorder is another site where people sell completed handcrafts. If you have consignment shops in your area, they may be willing to sell the rugs for you. I have some that I've hung on the wall as art, and I have also used some as tops for chair cushions or throw pillows. Unfortunately, though, in general this is one of the class of craft projects where the unused kit often sells for more than the completed item. If selling doesn't work out, you may wish to restrict yourself to rug projects where you have a specific use or recipient in mind, or else put some of your energy into a less expensive craft like friendship bracelets, for instance. Good luck!
Q: Inexpensive Carpet Cleaning Torrington CT., anyone know of any? I live in the Torrington CT area and I know I could just do a search on google or look in my yellow pages but that does not tell me who is a good carpet cleaning company in Torrington CT. Anyone know of any?
stanley steamer
Q: so i accidentally got some nailpolish on my carpet any ideas for how to get it out?
Probably the best thing would be nail polish remover or paint thinner; but be sure and test a bit on the carpet under the couch or something first. If that won't work or damages the carpet, you might have to let it dry and scrape it off the best you can. If all else fails, you might need an area rug to just throw over the spot.
Q: can anyone possible help me with a pryer rug?
what about the rug burns ?
Q: I have a thin, lightweight, 3x5 rug in my room. The floor is hardwood floor (but unwaxed). It is kind of like an quot;area-fillerquot;, so my room doesn't look so empty, therefore I don't want to put anything on top of it to anchor it down. Simply walking over it causes it to slip slide and move around. What can I do to hold it in place? Do they sell anything for things like this?Thank you!
Any flooring store or home center has these special thin mas that are used under rugs.. They seam tacky , but leave no residue. And when they get dirty naturally you toss then ib the washer and the tackiness comes back to reuse.. One CAUTION.. Get only the one meant for rugs over wood. Don t get the rubber mats that are sold in housewares, these can stain the wood. These are special for 2 reasons.. They allow the wood to breathe and they will not stain or discolor the wood if you have a oil based urethane on them.. GL
Q: I have burns in my landlords carpet from cigarettes. How can I remove the burns short of replacing the carpet?
not unless you replace the carpet a burn changes the chemical properties of the material there is no way to get it out or even make it less noticeable No way that first idea will work especially with multiple burns it would look terrible
Q: carpet seems to be deteriorating and flying in air..manufacturerer says it is not from their carpet. By using wet sponge, I collect specimens from around edges of carpet that are the color of the carpet and look like wet cardboard.
Good heavens, that's strange. Did you buy this carpet yourself, or was it already there? Do you know what the material is? I have lived in five houses with wall-to-wall carpeting and have never, ever seen that. If you can't find out what the material is on the phone, then take a piece of it to Home Depot or a specialty carpeting store or someplace like that and get some help. If you have major problems with this, I would call your local television news station and get them interested in a faulty product story. This might pressure the carpeting manufacturer to pay some attention to your issue. One final note though: whoever owned the carpet before you might have applied some kind of product to the carpet which is causing its detioration. Good luck.
Q: I want to use baking soda to freshen my rugs before I vacuum. I won't use commercial odor eliminators (the strong scent gives me a headache). Has anyone used baking soda and experienced a change in color or any damage to your carpets?
Shake the baking soda on your carpet and let it sit for fifteen minutes then vacuum it up. I used it a few times and never had any damage to my carpet. You can use it on a small area of your carpet to test it before you use it on your entire carpet
Q: I am looking at getting some new carpeting for my home, how much does carpet usually cost? I am guessing they figure it out by square foot and which type of carpet that you want...but just a round about answer, how much is carpet per square foot?
Round, average carpet will be around 3./3.50$ a s/f. This isn t fancy and not the cheapest... This is an installed price with pad ( 5 1/2# minimum) and standard installation. Won t cover rip out and disposal of the old. This is just a general price to get you an idea.. And your right.. carpet is only sold in the s/f format.. Never sold ( can be shown) in the s/y format any more. Its against the law now. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q: I want to use my grammas old clothes as the strips for the rug and I heard of people using blue jeans as the backing for the rug. Does anyone know how to do it? Step by step instructions welcome!!
Two okorder / – Braided Rag Rug: Made by braiding strips of old sheets and sewing ... small rectangles, plus a larger section of thicker denim as the backing.
