Q: A lot of condos and hotels are being build in hawaii, and each time i drive pass them i wonder how they are assembled.Since each individual piece looks heavy/sturdy and is 45 stories+ high, how do construction workers put them together. Q: The really really tall ones you see next to skyscrapers. How do they assemble them? I thought that maybe they use another crane, but then how did they assemble that crane? Q: I just made origami cranes and want to hang them up, each by themselves with just a peice of string....how should i go about doing this? how is it usually done?: TAke a needle threaded with a long piece of black thread, and make a small knot at end of long thread. Push the needle thru the middle of the crane's back and pull the thread all the way thru the hole till the knot catches. pull the needle off the loose end of the thread and make another knot on that end. take a push pin or thumb tack and push the pin thru the knot, then push the pin or tack into the ceiling. FYI, tape never works - I have tried. The black thread lets them flutter a bit, and is invisible most of the time. p.s. ask your parents if you can hang stuff from the ceiling first. they may not want you to do that since it will leave holes in the ceiling when you take them down.

Or do they build they tower and then somehow top it with the actual crane?: I'm sorry, but there is no way that a crane can lift another section of itself up in the manner described by the first person (lift another 20-foot mast section into the gap opened by the climbing frame). Can you lift yourself off the ground by pulling up on your own collar? I was told that the crane is jacked up from the bottom, and they slide another section below the jacked up crane. Then they lower and bolt the crane to the new section that was inserted under the bottom.
