Q: At what weight range should a patient (not able to weight bear at all) be lifted by two people instead of one ? at what weight range is it no longer safe to lift a patient without a power lift ? Just want to check the guidelines others use compared to what I suggest.
if you work for a health authority, social services or nursing agency then there should be a no lifting policy. it is not safe for you or the patient to lift non weight bearing patients. it is the responsibility of your employer to ensure safety at work. if they refuse make sure you are in a union - this will benefit you and don't forget if you injure the patient they can sue. Take care.
Q: Or be alone with Bill Clinton in the Oval Office?
Not comfy with Cheney, and being a female, no way would I get in a car with Ted, so I will go with Bill. I can laugh so hard when he drops his pants, he will never do it again. (especially when I snap a pic and send it to the press)
Q: A 12,000-N car is raised using a hydraulic lift which consists of a U-tub with arms of unequal area, filled with oil with a density of 800 kg/m^3 and capped at both ends with tight-fitting pistons. The wider arm of the U-tube has a radius of 18.0cm and the narrower arm has a radius of 5.00 cm. The car rests on the piston on the wider arm of the U-tube. The pistons are initially the same level. What is the force that must be applied to the smaller piston in order to lift the car after it has been raised 1.20 m? For purposes of this problem, neglect the weight of the pistons
start by making sure wipers are completely off.at the base of wiper am is a plastic cover that needs to come off. there is a nut.13 or 15mm.place wipers all the way down to stop,then tighten nuts as tight as you can.(p.s.may have to loosen a bit first to get them to move down.999% sure on this. ex GM tech.be careul ad good luck.
Q: In a car lift, compressed air exerts a force on apiston with a radius of 1.47 cm. This pressureis transmitted to a second piston with a radiusof 12.9 cm.A- How large a force must the compressed airexert to lift 13900 N car? Answer in units ofN.B- What pressure produces this force? Neglectthe weight of the pistons. Answer in units ofPa.Will pick best answer and please look at my other questions.
r?= 1.47 cm = 1.47 x 10^-2 m r?= 12.9 cm = 12.9 x 10^-2 m W = 13 900 N (A). use formula : => F?/ A?= F?/ A? or : F?/ r?? = F?/ r?? where : F?= W = 13 900 N (weight of the car) then : F?/ r?? = F?/ r?? => F?/ (1.47)? = 13 900/ (12.9)? => F?= 180.5 N (B). use formula : P = F/A and A?= π rr?= 1.47 cm = 1.47 x 10^-2 m r?= 12.9 cm = 12.9 x 10^-2 m W = 13 900 N (A). use formula : => F?/ A?= F?/ A? or : F?/ r?? = F?/ r?? where : F?= W = 13 900 N (weight of the car) then : F?/ r?? = F?/ r?? => F?/ (1.47)? = 13 900/ (12.9)? => F?= 180.5 N (B). use formula : P = F/A and A?= π r?? (area of circle) => P?= F?/ A? => P?= 180.5 / π( 1.47 x 10^-2)? => P?= 180.5 / (6.79 x 10^-4) = 265,832 Pa
Q: Hey guys,im in a pickel right now because it is time for me to get a new (used) car in the near future. I will buy used, btu i am stuck in between a coupe (such as a v8 mustang) or a sports sedan (charger srt-8) and a lifted truck (ram 1500, chevy 1500 lifted)could you guys tell me the pros and cons of eachinsurance, costs, etci need help because i love both kinds nad i can only get one.so which would it be for you.
I wouldn't really recommend a lifted pickup unless you actually need the ground clearance. They get worse mileage because of increased wind resistance and the lower gearing caused by the larger tires, and tend to wear u-joints and other suspension parts quicker causing higher maintenance cost. You could easily drop your mileage to around 10mpg with a large lift making it very expensive as a daily driver. I have one and love it, but frequently use it off road, in snow or mud or in other situations where the lift is helpful. I personally of the three would buy the Mustang since it is probably a much better car than the Dodge, but if you need more room the Charger is more of a sedan.
Q: can lifting heavy things while trying to conceive, effect your chances?? I work as a teacher for 2 yr old and I have to lift them to change their diapers, sometimes I even have to lift my nephews car seat with him in it is that ok??? can it effect my chances???
Heavy lifting shouldn't cause any problem. Staying active and getting some exercise is good for you.
Q: i mean there gonna do it inside the shop but im getting my car lifted so its like 33f out here and i was wondering once i drive outta the shop will the cold effect the springs or shocks at all?
At those temps, no you won't be able to tell at all. Your shocks get stiffer due to increased fluid viscosity at REALLY cold temps, like --25 or lower, but they don't lock up or anything. I've noticed my Explorer rides pretty rough when it gets down to -30 or below, but the tires harden up too at those temps.
Q: If the output piston (the one the car is sitting on) has an area of 70 square inches, how much force must be applied to the 0.5 square inch input piston to lift the car?
Pressure force/area Force pressure * area The pressures in the two cylinders will be the same. So F1/A1 F2/A2 3*10^4 /[ pi * 22^2] X / [pi * 6.38^2] X 6.38^2 * 3*10^4 / 22^2 2523 N
