I agree, while making a bed oftentimes is not something that anyone but YOU will be aware of, it can and does create an order to a room. I find that when I do NOT make my bed, I tend to scatter things around and leave things a bit messy. When the bed IS made, I tend to want to keep everything picked up and neat. Anyway, I always make my bed this way. I have a 3 inch thick mattress topper made out of that memory foam and the topper seems to slide a bit during the night, so every morning, I move it back centered on the mattress. Then making sure all corners of the bottom sheet are secure, I then pull the top sheet over, making sure the sides are even and the top is even across the top of the bed. Then I put the comforter back on the bed being sure it's even as well. Pillow shams and decorative pillows are placed and it looks like a showroom. The biggest plus besides the nice way it looks is when I get INTO the bed at nighttime, the sheets are perfectly placed, not crooked or mussed up. I absolutely HATE getting into a bed that the sheets aren't perfectly in place. It feels so much nicer to slip into a perfectly made bed.

Q:Anyone who has, or their children have, a captains bed...was it a good investment? Im getting my 4 yr old a bed (currently in a toddler bed)...i found a captain's bed i really like, but it is $349. It is well made, and sturdy, but i was really only planning on spending maybe 300 total, including mattresses. Now with this bed, plus bunky board, and mattress i will be at over 500. Is it a good investment? Did you notice them being sturdier than just a headboard/footboard? Thumbs up or down? Thanks!

I had a captains bed that really sucked, it was one large drawer that wasn't on a track so it was very hard to get out if anything was in it. Later I had one that was great and it can save a lot of space Load the drawers with heavy objects and see how easy it is to move them. On the other hand you can get under the bed storage containers that are plastic now, and those might be easier to clean.... if something were to get left in them and get icky.
