Last november I got a call from alder hey childrens hosp saying I had to take my son to them ASAP as he needed emergency surgery, because his bladder kidneys were so enlarged through blocked urine. I had my son back forward to the doctors at least 30 times b/c my son was bed wetting almost every night sometimes during the day, and he kept saying it was just a phase!!! It was only when my sons school go involved arranged an appointment with a paediatrician who in turn arranged my son to have bladder kidney scans. Just by chance a consultant from Alder Hey seen the scans thats when he called me, telling me to take Steven ASAP. What was happening was he wasnt passing urine properly (only drips at a time) and the rest of the urine was travelling back up to his bladder kidneys making them very inlarged. So when my son was relaxed sleeping the urine was trickling out, making him wet the bed. His kidneys were so damaged that he was weeks away from total kidney failure. I'm not trying to scare or frighten you, but PLEASE keep hassling your doc for scans etc.just in case!!! Hope things get sorted soon for you your daughter :D

what you describe sounds like a recurring problem with tree roots in your main sewer line. If this is the case, yes you will be using your friendly neighborhood rooter person at least once a year OR replace the main line. Older mains are made of, among other things, clay tiles(pipes). Theses pipes are about three feet long which means lots of joints, sometimes joined by common mortar, for tree roots to grow into as they seek water. New lines are of various types of plastic and generally 10 feet in length and joined together with fittings and pipe cement or rubber gaskets. I've never seen roots penetrate pipe cement and only rarely rubber gaskets.

Q:Had to change my door knob at my new place because the other one had no key to it was trying to install it (long story short) when kids started fighting and breaking stuff in the yard. pulled them apart, brought youngest in house to separate them and door wound up getting closed. The key is that the joint are not water tight. So a loose fit on one or two joints would make it possible. 4 elbows 5 nipples ( 3 - 6inch, 1 - 3 or 2 1/2 inch and 1- 2 inch) 1 coupling( 1 inch long One leg of the frame is made up of two shorter nipples. A coupling is used to joint these together. Normally a union would be used to make a water tight fit but a sloppy loose connection with a coupling can be done as only a thread or two will be engaged on one connection. (A connection none the less) The key here is that the coupling it over threaded on to one nipple end. The other nipple is placed into the other end of the coupling. This nipple has also been over tightened into its elbow. First back off the overtightened nipple from the elbow. As you unthread from the elbow you will be threading into the coupling. Then switch to the coupling and repeat the process. Unthread the coupling from one nipple and it will tighten on to the other.

Instead of calling maintenance, I decided to try and fix it myself, and took a wrench to the nut on the toilet valve. I turned it and stopped the leak, but I also turned the toilet valve about a centimeter to the right, meaning that it pivoted about a centimeter clockwise in relation to the wall. I have no outward signs of a leak inside the wall, nor can I hear any leakage, but I'm just concerned that I may have damaged the piping in the wall somehow, and that it might be dripping or leaking without me knowing it. How is the piping usually set up inside the wall for a toilet valve?

Why does everyone keep forgetting that the college football season is now 12 games? As for the 'Cocks, their non-conference schedule outside of Clemson, like every other SEC school, is a joke (Wofford, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee), so all of those are wins. They go to Clemson, and that's always a war. In conference, they avoid Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss. They have possibly the easiest road schedule in conference possible, going to Mississippi State, Kentucky, Vandy, and Florida (well, Florida's a loss, but the other three should be easy wins). Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, and Arkansas come to Columbia. I'm going to say 9-3, with losses at Clemson, at Florida, and at home to either Georgia or Auburn.
