Q:What could I use as a substitute for the power cable running to my car amp?
Splices are not wise when high current is passed. It's a perfect spot for overheating. However, using a distrobution block as a splice would work fine. It won't look pretty but you can cut up a set of jumper cables as long as they're the same guage. Of course the more strands in stranded wire, the better.
Q:what volt fuse do I use in my audio power cable on my car amplifier? ripspeed amp.?
you always take wat amp fuses you have in the amp and add them all together and thats the minimun fuse amp you can have in your power, your amp has 2 25amp fuses so you need at least a 50amp fuse on ur power wire, and if you have the lil fuses you cant go beyond 40 so youll have to go get a MAXI fuse block and get a 60amp fuse and you will b fine, you can find them on OKorder for less than 10bucks or at walmart for 15-20bucks, good luck
Q:Wich power supply cable do i need for Nvidia GeForce 8800gt ?
If you want to find out what cables you need there are two ways. 1. check the manual or guide that came with the device to see if it says what cables you need. 2. take the device with to a hardware or electronics store and ask the clerks there to help you find the right cables for you're device.
Q:If I put my laptop into hibernation mode, is it okay to disconnect the power cable?
If it's true hybernation (and not hybrid sleep [?] or suspend) then everything is on the hard drive and the machine is completely powered down. You can safely remove the power cable - and even the laptop battery (if you wanted to, just to prove it works) - and a hour/day/week later pop those back in and when you power back up you should be good to go. EDIT: If it's true hibernation you can leave it like that for years. (Just do a simple test without power cord or battery as mentioned here and see if it works before trusting it.)
Q:ps3 problem , could it be the main power cable ?
Could be your household voltage is blowing the Motherboard try getting a low voltage transformer it plugs into the socket and lowers the voltage because most household voltages are set to a specific Watt so it can run big things like T.V's Microwaves etc. I see you are in the US so it rules out the possibility of a broken fuse. When it cuts out do any of the trip switches trip on the main electric panel? If so then your only option is to buy a transformer. I would ask the shop where you take it first though. Hope I helped
Q:why won't my laptop recognize its power cable?
did you try to remove the battery
Q:Acoustic Audio 10 inch home theatre powered subwoofer use speaker wire or subwoofer cable?
As you used the phrase The wire that was included for the subwoofer, I'll presume that we're talking Home Theater in a Box here. As someone above mentioned, sub frequencies can use a lot more energy. In a larger system where you are consistently running several hundred watts over longer distances, a larger wire would probably be benificial. For a HTIB system such as yours the wire that came with it would be more than adequate over the short run that would typically be needed. Having said that, there is nothing wrong and nothing will be damaged by going to a larger gauge wire. Just not a lot of benefit.
Q:Why did my power supply entrance burn and the cable too?
A dodgy power cable can very easily singe or burn the power socket on the computer. In general, the lighter the cable, the more dodgy it is. $2 is nothing - I would buy a more expensive cable. The cents you save isn't worth it when your house is on fire. It's impossible to know whether your power supply or other computer components suffered any damage because of the electrical fire. You could try testing with a multimeter, but you should probably replace the power supply at a minimum.
Q:Fourth, what causes the power cable fire accident
Once the cable in the event of fire, the fire ferocious, rapid spread, in the burning will occur when a large number of harmful gases, resulting in fighting difficulties
Q:Why do Craftsman and Porter Cable share power tools?
Craftsman power tools are all made by someone else; Craftsman just puts their name on it. This is not uncommon in the tool business. Most Craftsman power tools are made by TTI based in Hong Kong, the same company that makes many Ryobi, Rigid, Taskforce, Rockwell, and Makita power tools. Porter Cable is a subsidiary of Stanley Black Decker which also owns DeWalt. In this case, I'd say Porter Cable makes the grinder and Craftsman sells a version of it.
