Different phones shoot video in different file formats (.3GP, .3GP2, .MP4, etc.). And you need to tell us what kind of computer you have. Editing transcoding (converting) video on a Mac is different than on a Windows PC. One important point, in your Question headline you say you want your phone videos to equal those of bigger camcorders. Most phones do not have the video quality to equal the quality of a bigger camcorder, but you can at least convert them to play normally on a television or YouTube / Netflix style media player. If you want to show or distribute your videos using DVD, then the final video format will be MPEG-2 (or you can use MPEG-4 encoding for Blu-ray HD). But this encoding step is usually handled by the DVD authoring software (Roxio, Nero, iDVD, etc.). For just online distribution viewing (YouTube, etc.), you have a wider choice of video formats for uploading. - I don't know how that got started, but it is a possibility. Any transmitter/receiver combination has the possibility to interfere with some other combination. To my knowledge, it has never happened with aircraft. The law against cell phone use is not an FAA rule, but an FCC rule. Reason:You will tie up every tower in range of your cell phone while in an aircraft. As any radio operator should know, the higher your antenna the better reception you will get.
