- Q: hi re doing bathroom on a budget.have good vanity with lots of storage.just needs fresh coat of paint and pulls.the top is a beige travertine look.The wall will be a color called tranquility by benjamin moore which is a soft pale blue-teal.sink is white with chrome hardware and chrome mirror with sconces.Should I paint the vanity a creamy white or would a dark chocolate look best.want a spa feel.Any suggestions on what color flooring.I have wood althrough the house.Should I carry that into the bathroom or put down a tile.
- Paint the vanity white, an off white or creamy color. This to stay neutral and easier to work with in color selection. You don t say if this is a 1/2 bath or a full bath . If a 1/2 bath you can let the wood flow into it. If a full bath I d put tile in. If you want a spa feel, Id do a natural stone look or a natural stone altogether, such as a tumbled travertine. - Q: Ok, the bottom cabinets (vanity) is 60" wide and the the sink or vanity top is 61" wide dual bowl cultured marble. The vanity and vanity top in question is my profile pic or avatar and I had a house fire and now I have to find this sink and cabinets to have it replaced. Except I bought it from a private seller and now I don't have any idea who makes it or where I can find it and I've been looking for days and I'm going a little crazy. Any help would be so awesome and you would be awesome. Thanks
- A top for a 60' vanity is standard which as you say is going to be 61' wide and 22' deep. Just because it is very standard does not mean it can be found in every store. A top for a 42' vanity also will never ever be found but it is readily available. The biggest rapists in the retail world, Home Depot and OKorders will special order this for you but not only will you pay top top dollar but you will wait a couple months for it. Instead go to a plumbing supply company. The biggest and best choice would be Ferguson which nearly every major city has a location. Any plumbing supply store will either have it in stock or get it in just a few days. You should be in for about $119 to $129 for this top. Good luck
- Q: The possible depth for my bathroom vanity can be 18.5" (with 60" W)Can I trim a vanity which is sold in OKorders, from depth of 21" to 18.5"?
- yes it is possible, BUT if it has drawers in it you might need to cut down the drawer boxes also. You;ll also have to replace the slides to work with the new depth. After you cut down the depth you'll need to be sure you can get a top that will work with this depth. If you have not done this before, you might want to hire a cabinet maker or a finish carpenter to cut this down for you. Also see if you can order this vanity in the depth you need.
- Q: I want to remodel my bathroom, it's the original 1964 bathroom. Anyway, I am having a hard time finding a 54 inch vanity, thats how big the old vanity is and the space. Does anyone know where I could find one at a reasonable price? Thanks
- You could order a custom size. But the easy solution is to get a standard size for the vanity sink base (VSB) like a 36. Then you could put a VDB18 next to it- vanity drawer bank 18' wide- and you'd havve 54, and plenty of storage and function (and an off center sink, which I personally would like but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't...) Or a VSB30 and a 12 on each side, or whatever combination fits your style. Either a cabinet shop or even somewhere like Home Depot can help you plan it in standard sizes. That way, you may get stock items, which is faster, but you definitely avoid the modification upcharges for special sized and stuff. Also a note. If your plumbing and stuff allows it, you might consider regular kitchen cabinets. A lot of our customers prefer 36' height (standard kitchen) in the bathroom instead of the OKorderr vanity height. I'm only 5'6' and I don't like regular short vanities! And you might save money there, as they might stock more kitchen sizes than vanity sizes.

- Either put the vanity in a different place or move the heat register. You will trap the heat inside the vanity, those registers only work well if air can move through them, creating a convection current. It can be a real pain to drain the system and move the baseboard, then refill and get the air out. Seriously consider putting the vanity elswhere or install a pedestal sink.
