Q:why is there an extra wire coming off the bathroom vanity than there is coming out of my wall?: If this is a vanity light fixture,it is a ground wire. Newer wiring has 3 wires- a hot wire to supply electricity,a neutral wire to complete the electrical circuit and a ground wire for safety reasons. Older homes had 2 wires and the plugs could be inserted either way. The the polarized plug was introduced,which meant that a plug could be inserted only 1 way (1 prong is bigger than the other). Updated building codes are now requiring the newer 3 prong outlets,but the polarized plugs will still work in them.

Q:How do I an antique dresser into a bathroom vanity?: the only problem that i can think of,is,u may loose space and some doors,other then that ! get the dresser in the bathroom,line up the water pipes and drain etc, if u allready pick the sink up!set the sink fase down on top of the dresser and trace it with a pencil ,after u do that ,go back 1/2'back and is where u need to make u circle or the cut to seat u sink on,also u can find new sinks than just a small hole need for the drain,cut the hole ,do u conections ,and enjoy it,good luck my friend ,hope to help u

Q:I had some black hair dye accidentally get on my bathroom vanity top. The vanity top is white not marble not granite not sure the material. The apartment is very new everything is pretty high end so it may be marble but the color is white. I put bleach on the stain to remove it but it turned it a light green color? Should I try more bleach? Or just hire a professional cleaner to try and remove the mess?has anyone experienced this? Please help, I do not want to be out say over 100 bucks to repair this hopefully I will not have to replace the top.Thank youJason: Since there's also peroxide (a form of bleach) in the hair dye...putting more bleach won't improve your vanity stain.....Try a paste with baking soda and water, putting a damp (old) towel over the stain for 24 hours......keep dampening the towel or cover it with plastic wrap to prevent it drying out!....Sometimes HAIR turns green when too much color is too different from the last i.e. brown to blonde......which makes the hair green (such as someone who dyes their hair blonde & then goes into a swimming pool....then it turns a nasty green color being in a chlorinated pool)!
