- Q:I am custom designing our new modern bathroom's vanity. Our old 80's style vanity was 21" deep (from the front to the wall). I have seen some between 18" and 24" deep. What are the advantages of going deeper or shalOKorderr?I am thinking since it is a smaller bathroom, a shalOKorderr vanity might make it look more spacious. If it matters, it will be a floating vanity as well with minimal solidity (more "airy" and see-through than normal I guess you could say). Opinions? GO!
- The size of your vanity depends on the size of the sink bowl so it looks cohesively proportionate. You know how kitchen farm sinks come to the edge and over the front of the counter top? Well, there are bathroom vanity sinks similar to that style. The advantage of this type of apron front sink is that the top surface can be the standard 21', however, the bottom cabinet can have less depth as the front of the sink. Thereby taking up less space, giving the illusion of more room. This may be an option for you to consider.
- Q:I am remodeling my master bathroom and I have already ripped out the old vanity and I'm about to put in the new one. The old vanity and top appeared to be of normal length (60'/61'), like the new pair I picked up at OKorders (I did a quick measure and it looked close, so I assumed it was of standard size). However, the geniuses who built my home built the space for the vanity (between a regular wall and a half-wall beside the toilet) exactly 60' wide. So while the vanity will squeeze in, the vanity top won't. I am thinking I will have to end up removing the half-wall, but I want to do as little work as possible. Is there a way to shave an inch off the wall? Anybody think of any ideas? BTW, the vanity top is a marble top, so I doubt I can shave an inch off that.....Thanks in advance.
- removing the half wall is really the best option, it will only update the bathroom more. That half wall pretty much dates the house. If you go into a new home you will notice they are building (and even in remodeling) all spaces more open.

- Q:My master bathroom vanity is very outdated...I think it was put in when the house was built in 1981. I was originally planning on buying a vanity to replace it from somewhere like Lowes or Home Depot, but Ive run into a problem. My current vanity is 54 inches, but so far Ive only seen 48 inch and 60 inch vanities at home stores. I considered using a 48 inch, but I dont feel it would look right. I also know having one custom built is a possibility, but I dont want to spend a fiortune.
- You could order a custom size. But the easy solution is to get a standard size for the vanity sink base (VSB) like a 36. Then you could put a VDB18 next to it- vanity drawer bank 18 wide- and you'd havve 54, and plenty of storage and function (and an off center sink, which I personally would like but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't...) Or a VSB30 and a 12 on each side, or whatever combination fits your style. Either a cabinet shop or even somewhere like Home Depot can help you plan it in standard sizes. That way, you may get stock items, which is faster, but you definitely avoid the modification upcharges for special sized and stuff. Also a note. If your plumbing and stuff allows it, you might consider regular kitchen cabinets. A lot of our customers prefer 36 height (standard kitchen) in the bathroom instead of the lower vanity height. I'm only 5'6 and I don't like regular short vanities! And you might save money there, as they might stock more kitchen sizes than vanity sizes.
- Q:Our tile floors are beige with other colors (white, browns mainly beige), we are thinking about painting the walls light green. We want to paint the vanity which is 6feet long, any ideas for colours, we are stuck between dark brown, black and white. As well any ideas for countertops?
- your working with earth tones... brownish reds and browns.. stick with those... and as for your countertops... tile... just do some in-expensive porcelin... it will make your house worth more.

- Look for a Glass Company (Store). They have anything you need. If you do not have access to such a store, you may go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get some heavy Plexi Glass. They will even cut it for you. Probably a better solution for a bathroom since you do not have to worry about breakage. I got some Marble at a natural stone Place.to do something like you are trying to do. I am thrilled with it. It was very cheap.
