FAQ

Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?

Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.

Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.

Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?

All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.

Q:It is a small gear that goes on the brushroll which the belt attaches to turn the roll. The vacuum is a shark navigator nv22 and have looked on several site but all I come up with is filter parts. Can someone point me in the right direction to were I could by individual parts if there is any
To search for your part online, you need the Make Model number.
Q:looking for parts for the power head or the power head with electic hose, vacuum model C-6 it is from the early 1970's
Try looking on OKorder under vintage vacuum cleaners
Q:I have a company that sells vacuums and takes trade-ins, I need to find someone who will buy these used vacuums that have been traded in on our new system.
we need more info please .........................
Q:I have a dog who sheds like no tomorrow and my current vacuum doesn't cut it.
Yes Dyson is a great Vacuum. Kirby is an even better Vacuum but costs a bit more
Q:rainbow D4SE
Yes, any one selling vacuum cleaners door to door will take any old vacuum in trade. Remember though that these people work on high mark up and in turn high commission. Hold out on making a quick sale to get your best deal. Many people are ripped off by door to door sales people who are desperate to make a sale. A fair commission is ok, as every one is entitled to make a living.
Q:Are hoovers too strong, what has workked for you?-thanks
You can buy miniature vacuum cleaners hat are USB powered to use on your keyboard, but the ?2.99 one I bought didn't have that much power to be of any use. An actual cleaner with the crevice nozzle (or upholstery nozzle if it's a powerful beast) would do fine, Alternatively, you can buy cans of compressed air that have a thin straw on the end. This can be put inbetween the keys to blast muck out. Only pop off keys if you remember where they go. Note that laptop keyboards and some other types of keys (Generally the ones that don't make a 'click' sound when pressed) don't clip straight on and could be damaged by removing them the wrong way.
Q:i hardly find a replacement for my electrolux vacuum cleaner filter bag... where do You think i can buy that in manila or batangas area here in the philippines
We have a bagless vacume. We shake the filter off every time when empty the tank and change at the recomended times. We have never had the trouble you have described. I think your vacume is messed up. I really like the bagless.
Q:..... Cheering on an army of vacuum cleaners. I got it from a Jim Morrison poem
It means Jim was seeing an Army of vacuum cleaners when he wrote it.
Q:Combines the cyclonic suction of a Dyson but utilizes a bag?I've used Dyson's (never owned one) and they have tremendous suction power, but I absolutely HATE the bag-less containers because when I empty them the dust goes everywhere and eventually you have to clean the containers and those filters inside. If there isn't anything that combines the best of both worlds, what upright (bag using) vacuum do you recommend as the best for a single floor mid-sized house?I really desire something that can get up close against the edge of the carpet and the side-boards and has good consistent suction power.
Dyson probably makes the best bagless vacuum available, closely followed by the Shark Navigator. I've never experienced mess issues with either of these vacuums while emptying them, however further use of the garbage can after the fact can stir the dust quite badly. For this reason I recommend emptying a bagless canister into a separate garbage bag, carefully folding the top over a few times, then putting that into your trash or directly into your refuse bin outside. Cheap knock-off bagless vacuums such as those made by Eureka don't work well to begin with and are horrendously messy to service. The pros of a bagless vacuum is that they do not hold odors like bag vacuums do, and they're easier to empty/service than most bag vacuums are. There are no bags to buy either, which depending on the brand you choose, can be quite expensive. Bag vacuums alleviate the dust issues, but still require the filters be serviced at regular intervals. Filter maintenance is part of vacuum ownership, as is cleaning the brush roll periodically to maintain optimal performance. The real downfall of bag vacuums is poor odor control, particularly if you have pets.
Q:Ok so our Dyson hoover has finally given up. We want a new hoover that isn't as heavy as a Dyson. We tried the smaller Dyson's today but they aren't powerful enough because we have 2 pets you see. So we tested the HOOVER DM6228 and that seemed ok. Any reviews or any recommendations of vacuum cleaners? I live in Britain by the way.
We've got the Dyson Animal.
