Q:How to connect 2 power supplies together? (Solar panels)?
You have to look at the power output of the cell. The first consideration has to do with voltage. A single cell with no load might output one volt or less. Wiring cells in series would double that output, at least in theory. (Internal resistance will lower the actual voltage.) You've wired the cells in parallel, however. Try unsoldering one electrode and then measure voltage output of each cell. There is still the issue of current output. I don't know if there will be enough with your setup. How many cells are there and what kind of batteries were they charging?
Q:Solar Panel energy 500 KW monthly?
I assume you mean 500 KWH (Kilowatt Hours) A good panel may produce about 00Watts. It will cover about 2SQ FT. Lets say you have a ranch style house that is 2000 SQ FT. That means if you covered your entire roof with panels, you could get about 65 panels on the roof(Not really, because you need room to get around them. Lets say practically you could get 00 panels on the roof. You could produce 00X00, or 0,000 Watts/hour (0 KW/HR)when the sun is at peak. Each hour you would produce 0 KW HR's. Lets say your area is perfect and the sun shines bright 0 hours a day, so You could potentially produce 00 KW HRS. There are losses envolved in the wiring, Battery Charger, Storage Batteries, and rectifier-controller. Maybe more realistically you could get 70 KW HRS per day. Maybe you could get 500 KWH in about 2 days. Each panel will cost about $500-$700. Panels alone will be over $50,000. The entire system installed about $00,000. This should cover your electric at least during sunny times. If you live outside of Arizona, lots of luck. Still much cheaper to ude the grid.
Q:Are solar panels actually efficient?
Solar panels currently hook into the electric grid through a rectifier. If you were not into the grid, you would have a battery bank to use at night time. Wind works the same way, rectifier, and battery bank if you are not connected. There are communities in Europe that are wholly powered by solar now. There are computers that direct the panels into the direct sunlight for maximum efficiency. Look for them to be coming to your neighborhood soon.
Q:Solar Energy Panel VS. Energy Efficient Bulbs?
It's giving off a good chunk of its energy as light in the range 800-00nm which the solar panel can efficiently harvest into electricity. As a lightbulb though, this energy is being wasted because you can't see light of those wavelengths!
Q:How to build a small SOLAR PANEL that will light a 60 watt light bulb?
I don't have any practical experience building solar panel arrays to power a given device, but allow me to make this observation. Solar cells, when exposed to sunlight, will each generate a given amount of power (watts), and by wiring these in series, you will increase the wattage. Now, a panel three feet square will give you a certain amount of power, provided all the cells are wired correctly in series, and it may not provide enough juice to light the bulb. You can work around this by adding a step-up transformer (which takes the incoming power and boosts it to the desired level for output, with no moving parts). Voila! You've illuminated your bulb. I will admit, though, you'll have to do some math to determine what you need. A search on the Web will help you find the formulae and other information you'll require. Good luck.
Q:can a light bulb power a solar panel?
Yes light-bulbs work, sort of, but you have to illuminate every cell. The output is regulated by the cell with the weakest illumination. Additionally the sun is very strong, 000W of light or more per square meter. A light-bulb is weaker, so less output. A 00W bulb may have only 5W of light, and it doesn't cover the panel, so you can expect something like % of the sun's output. The spectrum of a light-bulb is actually more appropriate for a silicon solar panel, as the silicon panel responds best to red colours.
Q:Solar panel question..?
Little solar panels on lights are very low power. The battery in one such may be 0.5 Amp-hours and .2 V ; it may be different but it should be marked on the panel/battery/manual. An outlet in your house is designed to run on 20 V (typically in N. Am.) and they run on alternating current (AC) whereas the panel generates direct current (DC). (If you don't know the difference, do not worry to much but just understand that they are not directly compatible.) You therefore need an inverter to change DC to AC (and lose some although inverters are now very efficient). But the amount of power generated by those panels is still very small. That is why solar lights are low power (just a few watts in most cases). To make things even more irritating, phone chargers do not work off 20 V AC as you are charging the battery and need a low voltage DC -- which is what the solar panel is giving you. It is almost certain that the voltage from the panel will be less than the voltage required for the phone. The charger is mostly cable but there is a black box incorporated and it should say what the voltage and current output are (the input will be 20V). So you should be able to overcome this not by hooking up the panel to a 20V outlet and then plugging the charger in but by hooking up the panel to the phone directly if you can get enough voltage out of the solar panel (or hook up several) and if you fashion a connection device. They already make them -- solar battery chargers and I am sure you can enter that into a search engine and find loads. Typically the panel alone is much more than a solar light -- which shows the relative power requirements.
Q:5kw Solar Panel Roof Kit?
Note that aiming is important - the sun is going to be perpendicular to the panels for only a few hours a year unless they are on an adjustable mount, so picking the time you most want power should be a factor in the angle they are mounted at - you can't keep the highest level of sun for summer into the winter time when the sun is much lower in the sky for a shorter time.
Q:What does it mean when a solar panel is 00w?
That means it can handle UP TO 00W at any given time in bright sunlight. Volts x Amps = Watts. This means you can use of these panels to supply a 9 volt DC appliance at amps. Which is a pretty ridiculous amount of amps for a 9 volt product. About 5 of the 65 Watt panels will give you in excess of 825W of power, which will give you 5kWh per day. But, remember that's DC. When you convert to AC, that changes. I would suggest keeping batteries for storage. Also, You might require an average of 825 W per hour, but at any given time, you'll use a higher peak. You need to find out what the PEAK is before you can decide what to get. That would be with all the lights on in your house, running the vacuum, the dryer, and the washing machine. I think most houses are built with 00Amp breakers. That's 2 kilowatts at one time. That would mean you would need 72 panels to be at the PEAK your house can handle. You'll hopefully never use 2kW at one time. But there's no way for me to know what YOUR peak will be. I think the average kW peak demand is somewhere in the range of 2 kW. That would require 3+ panels.
Q:New Prius; Solar panles a good design?
treehuggers already want priuses. the solar panel is meant to run an electric ac system that cool's the prius if the car gets too hot inside. its nice, but personaly, i'd rather have it charge the battery.
