- Q: Hi everyone,I attempted to build my first PC; purchased the hardware, software, etc. Everything is assembled perfectly. After installing the motherboard, power supply and the respective cards, I connect the power cable.Upon connecting the power cable, the PC turns on and the only way to turn it off is to remove the power cable (from the back of the PSU). The PC boots up as if I pressed the power button!!I've read that this problem could be the power supply or the capacitors on the board??I'd be appreciative for any advice,Thanks,p
- Hmm that sounds like you have missplaced the cables to the motherboard from the front pannel (on switch, HDD led etc.) Kenny
- Q: Explain why a bird sitting on a 400 kV power transmission cable is not electrocuted?
- Simple . It is not grounded.A curcuit has to be complete for electricity to flow through it.
- Q: hi,i was wondering...can battery powered tv have cable? or do the battery powered tv not need cable? my niece likes spongebob so if she does come over she can watch it....but i just want to know before i buy it...thanks...P.S:so do they already have all the cable shows?or they dont?and if they dont do you have to put cable....and if they cant....then i shouldn't buy it?
- can battery powered TV's have cable? Some can and some can't. It depends on the details! Details: 1. Some battery powered TVs were made for use only with their built in antenna and don't have any way to connect to a cable system. You should look for a model with both a jack for an external antenna/cable and NTSC QAM tuners. 2. so do they already have all the cable shows? What do you mean? TVs are only receivers and you have to supply them with signals. Spongebob is a cable/satellite only program so you can't get it with an antenna. You have to have either cable or satellite TV service to get it. 3. battery powered Since you have to connect it to cable, why so you want it to be battery powered. Battery powered means small screen and limited run time between charging. 4. How does your local cable company supply it's signals? If it uses DTA adapters or is still using analog signals, any old TV will do.
- Q: So I've had my laptop for about a year and a half now and I've gone through 4 power cables, 3 non-factory. What happens with each one is, I plug it in, the blue light surrounding the hole turns on, the end of the power cable that plugs into my laptop gets super hot and either melts the power cable, or when I plug the cable in, the light won't come on unless I have it in just right. This usually starts to happen between one and three months after I get a new cable. It's starting to go through them faster now, any ideas?
- Get it repaired. There might be a short circuit inside the socket. It will ruin your computer if you dont act now. You will lose your laptop or spend more if the laptop itsel gets damaged.
- Q: The difference between high voltage overhead cables and high voltage cables
- . like the computer boot fast, the best way is solid state hard drive, followed by the win. the system is very good, the interface is also familiar with the boot fast, especially the new browser edge than a lot stronger; . if you now computer The monitor is also good, and now the computer's hard drive can be taken down to the new computer above, then 3000 yuan can buy very very good, desktop. If the notebook is about 4500 or so relatively high cost. . do not recommend the configuration of their own one by one to buy accessories, it is recommended that you look at the top of the machine installed Taobao business, they rely on the volume, not only to ensure that the genuine accessories, the price is relatively cheaper to buy their own, And wiring installation are also professional. And they are equipped with win7 is free to upgrade to win. very good. I just bought a few days ago a machine, monitor and hard drive or use their original, with the host with the solid-state hard drive as a boot disk, their hard drive as a storage disk, spent a total of . the performance is very good.
- Q: I have a hp laptop from south asia. The adapter connects with the laptop and the power cable. The power cable has a 3 round pin plug which says 6A 240V~. On the hp adapter for the input it says: 100-240V~ 1.6A 5-60Hz. It also says Connect Only to Grounded outlets. Now I am in canada. All i know is that here they have 120 V in normal power plugs. Also they have 1 round and 2 rectangular pins to plug in the outlet.I bought this adapter which basically connects the 3 round pin plug into the adapter and the adapter has 3 canadian pins. The thing is that it says 250V 10A on the adapter. So I am not sure if it will hurt my laptop if I use it. I am a bit confused because Canada has 120V and the adapter accepts 250V. The HP adapter has a range from 100-240V. Will this be ok to use since the HP adapter will just convert the 120V into the proper output for the laptop or do I need one the expensice Voltage converters for the laptop?
- It will work fine on 120 or 250 volts, the grounded outlet is for your safety, most places in Asia are doing away with the round plugs ok.....
- Q: Im running a dedicated power cable from battery to trunk for 2 amps and i just want to know if drilling a hole through the firewall is the only way to do it? What happens in 15 years when the hole gets rusted and coroded from the moisture even with a gromet?
- Depends how much space you have and the gauge of the power cables. I had to drill a hole in my fire wall to fit my 0 gauge power cable. But I used a size were I had to force my cable through so there wouldn't be any gaps. But you don't have to worry much about rust. If you ever pull your carpet off, you will notice a lot of holes. There normally drain holes they will rust after a while but it's nothing to serious. I got a 87 Jag with rust around the drain holes in the trunk but it's still strong.

- Q: My Alienware Aurora Hard Drive SATA Data Cable is plugged in but not the SATA Power Cable. There are a lot of SATA Power Cables (And 3 of them are conveniently located in the hard drive slots; 1 per each slot, but I am just making sure before I do it) They all have numbers like P12 or P5 on them and I don;t know which one to use with my Alienware Aureroa aHard Drive (An uncustomiszed Alienware Aurora) and I just wanna make sure I use the right one so my computer does't explode
- If the plug fits, it's fine. Hard drives use relatively small amounts of power, so overloading isn't an issue no matter which plug you choose.
- Q: I'd like to know what type of wire/specs. for a 3 phase high power cable that can handle a 41.6KVa that will be buried under the ground? The voltage will be a 220 volts in 60 Hz. could you show me how to calculate or any charts are really appreciated.
- There's not enough information in your question to give an exact answer. Figure the highest current in any of the phases assuming that your load may not be perfectly balanced or it may have a nonlinear current waveform. That will establish the minimum size of the conductors. Another factor to consider is the maximum allowable voltage loss at full current. You also need to know if voltage sags due to startup or inrush currents will be a problem. A long cable will need to have larger conductors to keep the losses within your acceptable range. Don
