Q:I bought a $5 rose bush (less than 5gal) from Lowe‘s in their discount section last month. It was hacked all the way back to nubs. I got it growing again and have a few buds and one flourishing flower. However, I just can‘t bring myself to spend $5+ for a big bag of special rose soil for a 5gal new potting. I‘ve been reading about rose soils and it‘s all so esoteric to me. If I tell you what I have, will you tell me the mixture that might be second best? In case it helps, I‘ll list everything I have (soil is all Miracle Grow brand):Sphagnum peet mossMoisture control potting soilCactus and succulent mixOrganic potting soilPerliteVermiculite+ Osmocote Rose fertilizer+ Acidifier (I believe it‘s for azaleas, I use on a Japanese maple)
It relies on the best of the meals. A frequent food or grocery store company like Iams, Pedigree or Beneiful and full of fillers and by means of merchandise. There is little or no meat in them. By way of-merchandise are the non meat materials of an animal. It includes feet, feathers, ears, snouts, beaks and different non digestible ingredients. Puppies need meat to thrive. Via-products are not meat and must not be the most important meat in a meals. There are some superb commercially available dog meals. These include a few meats for various sources (chicken, fish, red meat and so forth) and are in meal or average type. Some are grain free and just right for dogs. Residence made meals can fluctuate as much as commercially on hand meals. But a residence made meals is also higher as there would be no chemical substances and the sources can be managed. Not all of the methods of feeding are the equal.
Q:It is like rock stuff and if it breaks and is like dust and you inhale it, you can get cancer and it builds up in your lungs. They used to make walls with it, but they have stopped it now.
it is called rock_wool.
Q:My dirt is mostly all clay. But I want to plant a few rose bushes. Do they all need sun only? If they are climbers, I have to get something for them to climb on. Is any material better than another? Is there one type of rose that is easier to grow than another?Thank you. :)
the new knockout series roses are easy to grow
Q:I'm doing a science fair project.(what material absorb water.?
You might consider switching the substrate in the incubator to vermiculite rather then using moss. Vermiculite and perlite are the two main recommended substrates for incubation. They surround the eggs better and retain moisture reliably. Wet the vermiculite and then squeeze out as much water as you can by hand. The consistency that you are left with is what you want. Damp enough for the pieces to slightly stick together. I always incubate my corns with an a lid on the egg container with small air holes. There is often enough condensation produced to keep the medium moist through-out the incubation period but occasionally it does have to be re-moistened slightly. In that case lightly drip some water on the substrate in between the eggs. Don't wet the eggs themselves. The hatchlings should be separated from each other to avoid cannibilism and keep track of feeding. Deli containers are ideal, any take-out restaurant in your neighbourhood would likely be willing to sell you enough to house your clutch.
Q:Well my two normals had their first clutches a few week back. Ones due the first of june and the other the 17th of June. I have a couple of questions that i cant seem to find anywhere. First off the first clutch which was a total of 8 large eggs. I wasnt able to catch when they were first laid so the are all stacked together. My concern is when its time for them to hatch the egg on the bottom, will it be able to get out? also is it normal for the eggs to get a slight greyish color where the vermiculite touches them? all the eggs when candled show veins so there all ok yet.My last question is should i slit the eggs or not? and if i should when should i do so?
i would use Vermiculite Fiberglass infused paint to bond with the fiber glass and offer proper heat protection
Q:On a bag of Bonnie‘s Professional Growing Mix All Purpose Potting Soil, it says Caution, keep away from children and pets, but the actual chemical ingredients are not listed. Can anyone tell me what is in there that could be harmful?
the warning might be for the plastic bag
Q:Having some trouble finding peat moss and vermiculite. thank you in advance! :)
Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content, typically formed by the hydration of obsidian. It occurs naturally and has the unusual property of greatly expanding when heated sufficiently. Vermiculite is a natural mineral that expands with the application of heat. The expansion process is called exfoliation and it is routinely accomplished in purpose-designed commercial furnaces. Vermiculite is formed by hydration of certain basaltic minerals. Large commercial vermiculite mines currently exist in South Africa, China, Brazil, the USA and several other countries.
