FAQ

How long has electronic metal been around?
The hollow bar will not be stronger than the solid bar. But depending on its use, it may be close. If the bar is round and is used to transmit torque (like an automotive drive shaft), most of the work is done by the part farthest from the center, so the bar could be made hollow without sacrificing too much strength. And as has mentioned before, by using a larger diameter tube, you might should be able to make a stronger shaft with the same (or less) material as a solid bar. That's why auto driveshafts have been hollow for so long. In tension, or shear, I think the solid shaft would win. I am not sure about compression. Maybe someone after me will answer that.

It's just a label the record execs stuck on bands that played rock with turn tables, it's got nothing to do with metal at all, I still think Slipknot is metal though, having a turn table doesn't necessary make you a nu metal band, I don't believe Slipknot is nu metal.
what are three examples of a specific property that metals have which solve a problem or meet a need
Dont make any friends with hardcore traditional metalheads at first. Find the open minded ones. They'll be less likely to make fun of you if you dont know enough metal. Dont wear a band T shirt unless you know basic history on them, at least 3 lps of theirs and 10 songs from them. Always keep a top ten fave metal songs/bands of a band, metal subgenre or period within easy reference. Be very careful when dressing metal. Essential bands to know about: Iron Maiden (awesome traditional metal band and pioneers of power metal Black Sabbath (the grandads of metal) Metallica (most mainstream metal band) Motorhead (speed metal inventors) Venom (thrash and black metal pioneers) Judas Priest (awesome traditional metal band) Dream Theater (progressive metal) Helloween (power metal creators) Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax (Thrash 4 along with Metallica) Exodus and Testament (really awesome thrash metal bands) Death (death metal pioneers) Ozzy Osbourne Dio Also know about NWOBHM Knowing about Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin will not hurt either.
A metal that doesnt absorb much light.
Well that's different, now there's metal sub-genres. In the 70's-80's there weren't. Seeing as what used to be metal in that time is now considered classic rock, or hard rock at best. The difference is this, listen to Ozzy Osbourne (Love Randy, have his signature guitar), Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, then listen to Lamb Of God, Pantera (Groove metal), or Here Comes The Kraken (Deathcore). Or Opeth for some nice progressive metal.
Which one do you like more.BQ: favorite thrash and black metal band

Hey, can you list some good Death Metal bands that are somewhat like Cannibal Corpse or even Kataklysm? But it MUST be Death Metal not some grindcore or deathcore and that kind of bullshit.Thank you(I posted it on the wrong category a few minutes ago, deleted it and reposted it on the correct place lol)
Nu Metal is hard rock/metal combined with rap and sometimes some hip hop influences Some famous Nu Metal bands were KoRn and Limb Biscuit , some people also consider slipknot to be nu metal, even though the band itself disagrees Nu Metal was most famous in the 90s and early 00s it has since then lost popularity and album sales have plummeted. KoRn still had a relative success with their last album but it wasn't half as successful as their earlier ones.
I'm looking for folk metal, power metal, and metalcore bands! thanks :)
