Silver Plated Tea Set
I made a few caps for a project out of mason jars and did the math and they seem to be only about .05mf eachI need closer to 6.33I also need caps that can withstand about 10,000 volts so we decided to use 1/8th inch glass as the dielectricWere planning to use cut out pieces of copper on each sideHow much surface area would we need on each side to reach 6.33 mf? Would layering the glass and making a thicker dielectric increase or decrease capacitance? Would you recommend another method like tinfoil and wax paper with several run in parallel?
Waxed paper is about 0.001 inch thick (0.0254 mm)Coincidentally, the page I found that gives this thickness is showing how to calculate the capacitance of a homemade capacitorThat's my first sourceUsing the calculator in my second source and the dialectric constant of kraft paper, I calculated that you will need about 7000000 square mmIf you use aluminum foil that is 12 inches wide, that's 305 mm To get the area needed, you will need your foil to be 22950mm longThat's about 23 meters or about 75 feet or 25 yardsMy roll is 66 yards, so to make two plates you will use most of a rollIf you want want it 15cm high to fit a mason jar (I don't have one to measure, so I'm estimating), that's about 51 yards longThe non-stick aluminum foil is coated with teflon, which probably will work as a nice, thin insulatorOh, noI just noticed the part about 10 kilovoltsThat won't work with waxed paper1/8 inch glass is 3.175mm and a different dielectric constantYou need about 900000000 square mmYou need a square of glass that is 30 meters on each sideIn other words, no.
Why do my Wilton cookie sheets burn everything?
Use parchment paper for cookies and biscuits, not aluminum foil Your oven's thermostat may be way offIt's not unheard of, especially in electric ovens.
Iron (II) oxide (Fe2 O3) will reach with aluminum metal (Al) to produce molten iron (Fe) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) in an oxidation-reduction reactionThe balanced chemical reaction is: Fe2O3(s) + 2 Al(s) -gt; 2 Fe(l) + Al2O3(s)In this reaction: -name the oxidizing agent -name the reducing agent-recognizing that two Fe3+ ions are converted to 2 atoms of Fe in the reaction, how many electrons transfered?
It can be a number of thingsMaybe you're stressed outMaybe you can't keep yourself focusedEither way, unless it begins to affect you more and more then i'd recommend a neurologist to see if your head is okayI'm not saying you're crazy but sometimes people develop tumors and such out of the blueI'm paranoid i have tumors in my brain which explain my migraines but its all in my head.
I can't make homemade, I have to use the packaged kindWhat is the best kind and how do I get them cut into squares and out of the pan without them falling apart?
Take 5-8 minutes off the recommended cooking time and let them sit (covered with aluminum foil) for about 30 minutes before you cut them.
i have a major science project and i need to know something negative about aluminum, please please please help????!????!???
Aluminum does NOT contribute to Alzheimers.. That is a falacy that was de-bunked years ago.. Weak science put that one out there, and it was quickly proven incorrect. That is now an Urban Legend. Why some people still believe that is beyond me.. People had Alzheimers centuries before Aluminum was ever mined, or put in use for any application... That being said, the worst thing about aluminum, is that it needs to be mined, and that destroys the environment where the raw materials are found. More importantly, it takes a LOT of energy (electrical and fossil fuel) to convert those raw material into Aluminum...
Hello and thank you in advance just for reviewing this questionI was defrosting my freezer when I noticed a crack in the aluminum tube that runs inside my freezerI've still got frost ice around it but I'm concerned and would like to repair it if possibleI'm very handing and do most home repairsAny thoughts?
The classic brownie consists of just a few ingredients: butter, sugar, chocolate, eggs, and flourFudgy brownies (which purists often claim are the only real brownies) have a minimum of flour–about half a cup–and no leavening such as baking powder at allMelting the butter rather than creaming it with sugar yields a denser, fudgier outcomebut i don't think you can make them fudgy.after bakingsorry hope this helps
For my chemistry homework at school, I have to find two pure elements in my householdThe more rare the element, the more points I will receiveIt has to be a pure element! Can you help me with some rarer elements that might be in my house? Thanks SO much!
Put the tubing in some old garden hose cut to sizeThen the cat has to chew through the thick hose before it gets to the airlinesYou can put more than one airline in the hose, it helps to tidy things up a bit.
