FAQ

The wear resistance of aluminum sheets can vary depending on the specific alloy and temper. Typically, aluminum sheets exhibit a moderate level of wear resistance compared to other metals. However, they do not possess the same level of wear resistance as materials like steel or titanium. Aluminum sheets can endure light to moderate wear and abrasion, making them suitable for applications that do not involve excessive friction or impact. To improve the wear resistance of aluminum sheets, various treatments such as anodizing or painting can be applied to their surface. Furthermore, the wear resistance of aluminum sheets can also be influenced by their thickness and hardness. In general, thicker and harder sheets tend to offer better resistance against wear.
I've heard twice in the past 2 days on ESPN that they think Aluminum bats are dangerous. I disagree with this cause if they were dangerous why would they allow them to use them in college and high school. Isnt that what the BESR certification mean that the bat is safe that the ball isnt going to come off at super high speeds. i just wanted to get your opinion.
Yes I heard this also and let me tell you something the wooden bats are also dangerous. I hate hitting a ball and then I get stung and that hurts. I like the aluminum bats better, so they should just keep them on the market because they are not so much dangerous then the wooden one's.
Yes, aluminum sheet can be used for heat exchangers. Aluminum is a commonly used material for heat exchangers due to its excellent thermal conductivity, light weight, and corrosion resistance. The high thermal conductivity of aluminum allows for efficient transfer of heat between fluids, making it suitable for various heat exchange applications. Additionally, aluminum is available in different alloys and thicknesses, providing flexibility in design and customization for specific heat exchanger requirements. Overall, aluminum sheet is a popular choice for heat exchangers in industries such as automotive, HVAC, and aerospace.
I did electrolysis by adding aluminum to the ends of the wire. I waited about 2 hours, and then I filtered the water. After it dried, I was left with powder. It's gray.It that aluminum powder or something else? I'm making thermite, if its not aluminum powder will it still work?
Kinda sorta, the problem with this is that all you did was made aluminium oxide or hydroxide, when you electrolyzed the aluminium you also electrolyzed a bit of water with it, which added a hydroxyl group to the aluminum, which may have dropped a hydrogen when you dried it. If you could find an aluminium compound that is water soluble (DAMNED HARD to find) you could electrolyze it in water to get aluminium dust in the water, but that isnt very reliable or economical, the best thing for you to do is to get a ball mill or rock tumbler, add aluminium fold and about half full of regular marbles, let it run for 3 or so weeks. You need it really fine!
On the web page to see more information on the plating aluminum plate, I do not know what is the difference between aluminized and aluminum plating performance?
Hot dip aluminizing applicationsAluminized steel is widely used. The type I aluminized steel plate, originally developed, is mainly used in automobile exhaust pipes and silencers. Type II is used mainly for roofing and side walls of buildings, as well as for chemical containers. The aluminized steel wire produced by the new process is expected to be used as the core of the transmission line instead of the galvanized steel wire. Aluminized steel pipe has been widely used in power plants, boilers, water wall tubes, steam pipes, heat exchangers and so on. Aluminized steel structure has been widely used in power transmission tower, told highway guardrail and so on.
There are several bending techniques for aluminum sheets, including air bending, bottom bending, coining, and wipe bending.
Yes, 101 aluminum sheets are available in different finishes such as brushed and polished. These finishes are achieved through various processes that result in different textures and appearances on the surface of the aluminum sheets. Brushed finishes are created by brushing the surface of the sheet with an abrasive material, which creates a pattern of fine lines. This finish is commonly used to create a matte appearance. On the other hand, polished finishes are achieved by polishing the surface of the sheet to a high shine. This finish is often used to create a reflective and smooth surface. So, depending on the desired aesthetic or functional requirements, one can choose between brushed or polished finishes for 101 aluminum sheets.
I'm buying a sword this afternoon for about 100 bucks i'm using it mainly to take pictures of and hang it on my wall. I looked up tips about buying swords and i think the sword i want is made out of aluminum. Could i use this sword as protection on an armed robber who would break into my house?
Nothing wrong with buying a wall hanger. In a worst case scenario: sure. Pointy end goes into the other guy. But you are far better off with a kitchen knife, that has a whole lot less chance of breaking or shattering and injuring you, plus you don't need any room with it. Against an armed robber, more than likely you would get killed. Sword work even for guys trained with it, doesn't work great in tight spaces like halls. Having zero training with a sword and attempting to use it, will more than likely result in your injury even if you were just playing around and not attempting to fight for your life. If you are truly interested or worried about home protection, a shotgun is best, a handgun would be next, and even then some time at the range and some qualified instruction is needed. As a last resort matter of life or death, you are scrambling and only your wall hanger is available, sure it gives you a slight edge over being unarmed (maybe). It also hampers you, it ties up both of your hands, it requires space to use, and more than likely would break or severely bend the first time it contacts anything hard, it also elevates your threat level to an armed robber. Meaning he will be more willing to shoot you fearing his life is in danger. Or it could go the other way completely and scare the guy off... no telling. I wouldn't rely on it as a sole means of home protection, or even as an item of last resort (again see kitchen knife). For home protection, get a dog, get an alarm, and get a gun. Shotgun is point and shoot, without a lot of worry of penetration through walls and such injuring other members of your house. Handgun requires some training but is very effective. I can tell you that the unique sound of racking a shell on a pump action shotgun is a very effective intimidator and deterrant.
