A gate valve, also known as a sluice valve, is a valve that opens by lifting a round or rectangular gate/wedge out of the path of the fluid. The distinct feature of a gate valve is the sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar, so gate valves are often used when line flow of fluid and minimum restriction is desired. The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Gate valves are primarily used to permit or prevent the flow of liquids, but typical gate valves shouldn't be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose.

2. Main Features of the Gate Valve:

5.FAQ

1. What's are the characteristics of gate valve?

The distinct feature of a gate valve is the sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar, so gate valves are often used when a straight-line flow of fluid and minimum restriction is desired. The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel.

2. What is the work principle of gate valve ?

The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Gate valves are primarily used to permit or prevent the flow of liquids, but typical gate valves shouldn't be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose. Because of their ability to cut through liquids, gate valves are often used in the petroleum industry.

3.  What is the structure?

Bonnets provide leakproof closure for the valve body. Gate valves may have a screw-in, union, or bolted bonnet. Screw-in bonnet is the simplest, offering a durable, pressure-tight seal. Union bonnet is suitable for applications requiring frequent inspection and cleaning. It also gives the body added strength. Bolted bonnet is used for larger valves and higher pressure applications.

Q:Seek expert advice, wash basin faucet open waterproof hum how to solve?
The most effective and cost-effective approach is to turn on or off the valve, the valve openings to avoid too close, in other words, do not make the flow of water in the pipeline suddenly changed.
Q:How long is the kitchen faucet life?
As long as you buy a good quality workshop escape crossing Piao moth aldehyde valve each other, the general use of a decade is no problem, the last time in OKorder to buy a quality is also good, good performance, is the gold table bathroom You can go and see
Q:Other water pipes are through, only the kitchen faucet no water, what reason
A: may 〃 water pipe frozen 〃? Analysis: winter: Deng Geng observation line Yao Xu Jing for the relatively large kitchen more cold water can easily frozen. Hot water poured a pour, thawing water is through.
Q:i have two problems.1. water is leaking out from the cold faucet. I unscrewed the plastic cover, it looks fine, but i can see the water coming out from the iron thing. I suppose the only solution is the replace the whole thing? but the whole thing seems to be glued to the sink. 2. water is dripping down under the sink around this twisted plastic tube. ( i don't know the proper name for those things.) i can see mineral kind of things accumulating around one black plastic circle kind of thing. i think that this should be an easy fix, what should I buy? should just buy that one thing or replace the whole plastice tube, etc?thanks.
Unless this faucet is near and dear to your heart, just replace it. Be sure to replace it with a good one, because the cheap plastic ones only seem to last two or three years. Your faucet isn't glued to the countertop, it's just attached via two or three plastic nuts. You have to get directly below the faucet (where the water connections are) and you should see what you need to remove to get the old faucet off. There is a special wrench called a basin wrench that you can use or you can just use some pliers. They can be very tight and hard to remove though since you won't have much room. Be sure you turn the water off before you do any work....
Q:I got a new faucet with sink and the faucet is not positioned over the drain, also water cloudy. Kindly advise...
It doesn't matter where the faucet is positioned as long as the water goes into the basin. The cloudy water is probably the result of air in the waterlines from being turned off to install the faucet. It will go away. Another reason could be if you didn't have an aerator on the previous faucet and you are now noticing the air that is put into the water.
Q:Home faucet with a few years, become anxious, no longer soft, what is going on?
One is high water pressure, the second is inside the spool problems
Q:Open the faucet, the faucet and basin connection seepage, while the basin is also leaking under the water, leading off on nothing, what parts are broken? Thank you!
The faucet is broken, it may be on the faucet when the seal tape or gasket seal caused by lax, may also be broken.
Q:I have a Kohler (sp) faucet in my master bath that's come loose. I've looked underneath for some kind of bolt to tight, but I don't see anything there to tighten. I'm wondering if it was fitted badly and the means to tighten it lays between the plywood and the granite top. Thoughts?
Because you'll NEVER get a standard wrench up in there (I've tried, trust me), you'll have to pick up a cheap basin wrench at your local hardware store. See below link for pic.
Q:How the kitchen faucet is broken
Bad this is a lot of circumstances, can explain in detail
Q:Hiroshima kitchen sink faucet
With the active wrench card in the outlet cap of the card bit on the clock direction can be rotated out
