Q:I would like to know how difficult it is to change a water pump on my mustang? Is it something I can do by myself? I do know about cars and can perform general maintenance, I am not totally ignorant to whats going on underneath the hood of my car I'm just not sure if I have the tools needed and how difficult it is to do. What tools do I need? Do I need a torque wrench? If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks!
This is a straightforward task that can be difficult for the novice, but it's not impossible. You will need basic automotive hand tools, wrenches, sockets in metric. Also, you will need a good shop manual for this car. A torque wrench is optional, most professional mechanics don't torque the fasteners involved with this job. Take pictures of the engine from various angles, it will help in reassembly. Don't forget to disconnect the battery also. Be certain to draw a diagram of how the serpentine belt(s) are routed around the pulleys, if no such aid exists on the radiator support. By all means buy a reputable brand NEW pump, don't bother with a rebuilt unit. With some mechanical knowledge and basic common sense you can do this, take your time, don't rush. Good Luck !
Q:How do you measure and analyse the pump characteristics and efficiency?
Right on sweetheart! I'm with you due to the fact that I do not like being owned via the billionaires on this nation! There's not anything unsuitable with proudly owning used rather then the belief problems! Keeping up Appearances ring any bells? I believe typically it is a subject of jealousy too while anybody is paying $six hundred a month auto cost whilst you trip round on your four 12 months ancient auto cost unfastened and the item runs without end! Believe me, I've bought one! A 1984 GMC in best situation that I purchased while it used to be five years ancient and all I have ever performed to this can be a $1159 modern day substitute engine! The factor simply maintains going and going, we use it for snowplowing, getting firewood, at the farm for each chore conceivable, ingredients truck at my fix save and many others! So, preserve up the spirits and do not fear what different humans believe! I have an ancient announcing, if you do not like me or what I am then keep away! I used to be right here earlier than with out you and I'll be right here after wards with out you! Firm believer of reside and allow reside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Q:I'm trying to convince my dad to get a 1984 Porsche 944 for $900. However, the car need a new water pump and I was wondering how much it would be to get the part installed at a shop. What would be a good estimate as I'm planning on going to more than one place. So included with the price of the part and installation is this a good deal? And is the car reliable?
What anywherebuttexas said - you just can't do the MINIMUM on a car like this, without it biting you in the 4$$ later. You can change a water-pump if you work steadily, methodically, and carefully. The principle thing to realise, is that you are dealing with HARD steel bolts, passing thru a SOFT alloy casing, and if you are too violent and forceful, you are gonna get into a world of expensive hurt. You have to put the socket on the bolts, and eeeeease the load onto the wrench. Let it build up over time, don't work like you are trying to do a quick pit-stop! Oil the bolts before you fit the new pump, and easssse them up to the right torque setting in the Haynes manual. Good luck - a transaxle car like a 944, or my Alfa-Romeo, can be a thrilling drive.
Q:What does 'MCL' Unit stands for water pump. How can convert this Meter head of the pump. For example : 50 MCL to ------- MTR HEAD. What is the formula?
What Does Mlc Stand For
Q:Hello,Thanks for looking into my question. I am a little confused on the definition of a submersible water pump. I am assuming that they are actually submerged but that sounds a bit unlikely in my mind. I suppose if it has a GFCI setup built in with everything sealed beyond the portion that pumps, it would work submerged without any risks involved. Are submersible water pumps meant to be fully submerged? I am mainly interested in this information because I am concerned about the amount of noise they make, being submerged seems likely that they would not be able to be heard. Thanks.
submersible pumps are absolutely able to be completely submerged. they come in may sizes based on outlet pipe size and horsepower ratings. they are also very quiet, usually about as loud as a fish tank air pump or so. you need to know distance from pump to end of outlet hose and rise(meaning how far uphill it will be pushing the water in order to size it properly. you will also need a waterproof spot to plug it in for outdoor applications.
Q:What is the 10KV pump unit?
As the name suggests, the water pump unit is a number of pumps, and 10kV is the voltage level. According to the voltage level, what you call a water pump should be a pump with relatively large power
Q:and it still runs about every 1/2 hr even if you are not using water. I have no leaks from the pump thought the house so I think the problem is between the house and the well. I can't hear or see any leaks in the elbows in the well. I tried to pull the foot valve up but can't get it out. I replaced the pump cause it was worn out and it was running every 15 min. Do I need to set the pressure on the new one it cuts off at 42 and on at 20 psi and what else could cause it to run when it shouldn't? I know I should call a plumber, but haven't worked in months and can not afford one.
some vehicles have different designs. The water pump on my 96 Century might want to were performed in a remember of minutes. the position as some are a lot deeper interior the engine. usually, to regulate a water pump like that's highly a lot one extra step than replacing the timing belt. that is why it really is continually a reliable theory to do them both directly.
Q:I have a 1.5 horse Power Hit and Miss engine? Is it possible to buy a water pump I could run off of the hit and miss engine that would pump water from a river over a big hill and little ways and into a water tank or is this just a waste of time. How much water could I pump at a time? A trickle or a gush of water? When I say hill I don't mean like a little hill in your yard I mean a hill you have to hike up? If you don't know are there any resources I could access? Where could I buy such a pump if there is one?
A horse and a half won't do much. You would be better off with a hydraulic ram type pump if you can get about a 10 or 15 foot fall before the ram. It will pump about 4 or 5 times the height of the fall, but in small quantities. It will run 24/7 without gasoline, so it will fill a tank over a long period of time. The railroads used them during the steam era when they had huge water towers out on the plains.
Q:What are some good brands of aquarium water pumps? I have had bad experiances with Hydor Seltz (cheapest ones I could find, ugg, I know, you get what you pay for) pumps, failing very quickly, and sounding like plastic gears grinding around inside. What is the best kind to get?I need one that's around 150gph
PowerHead? or Sump Pump? I have used hagen aquaclear powerheads on my saltwater tanks for years 24/7 without a problem. I just purchased 3 MaxiJet 1200 powerheads and a wave timer to see haw they do, 6 months now 24/7 and so far so good. The longest lasting Sump Pump that I have ever owned is made by Ehime, I've had it for 14 years now and it's still going in one of my tanks. I better cross my fingers on that one.LOL
Q:I have been given a project to build a windmill driven water pump. So far, a lot of the books I've researched only give me info on how a water pump works. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance
