- I Worked for an office and did great. We never forced anything on anyone and the owner was very proffesional. Sounds like you have a bad manager. I would quit and report him to kirby. Contact number is on the kirby website, just under customer service. If you find a good office it can be great fun and awsome, I loved it and would do it again if I had the chance.

- i bought a bissell from wal mart, i think it was 169, a heated power steamer or something like that. i've used it several times (not because it did a bad job the first time, i just have 3 dogs and DETEST pet hair everywhere) anyway, it does an excellent job getting rid of the pet hair, you just have to make sure and clean the brush and bottom of the steamer each time you use it so it doesnt' clog. but anyway, my overall experience is that it did well to clean my old carpets (they were here when we moved in) it dries quickly, it didn't leave a musty wet smell, and it's fast and easy to use. hope that helps

- There are a lot of 'lightweight' vacuum cleaners available by good brands such as Dyson and Morphy Richards. I would recommend the Dyson but it may still be a little heavy. Your best shot is to take you mum to an electrical store and test a comfortable one. It might be better to get a cylinder instead of an upright so your pushing less weight around.

- I recommend trying to find a used Electrolux at a thrift store, yard sale, or pawn shop. This the old style Electrolux, not the new ones found in department and home improvement stores. They're much better than most new vacuums purchased today, and you may be able to get one for far less than your price. I've picked them up for around $20 before, and with some repairs, still comes up to less than $150. It should last for years. You can buy cheap new vacuums, but they generally don't last long, and the warranties usually aren't as good as they sound.

- I don't have a specific brand to recommend, but rather a strategy. Be sure to buy an extended warranty on your vacuum. At Target or WalMart or Best Buy, for example, these warranties are super cheap and totally worth every penny. Also purchase the vacuum with a credit card. Preferably American Express if you have one. These cc companies will back you and not hold you responsible for the charge if you have a problem with the product and the retailer will not return. - Get a Dyson. They are the best vaccume cleaners iv'e ever seen. i have one. i've had it for 4 years and it still sucks things up great. it's not all that noisy, and it gets the job done and then some. they are kind of expensive,but it is defiently worth it. I HIGHLY RECOMEND GETTING ONE!

- If it takes a bag, it could be that it needs to be emptied out, if it has a canister that collects all the stuff it picks up then you probably need to replace the filter. If it's a burnt rubber smell, then it's your belt for sure. * If you can not replace the entire filter then have your dad blow it out with a compressor.*
