Bagless vacuum cleaner feature a removable dust storage container, which can be emptied into your refuse bin when full. This is a simple method of maintaining your vacuum cleaner and making sure it doesn't lose suction. The advantage of this bagless system over a bagged vacuum cleaner is that it is more environmentally friendly, and avoids the need to purchase dust bags, thus saving you money.

FAQ

Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?

The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. However, the higher the wattage, the noisier the machine will be. With upright vacuum cleaners. you don’t need to have so much wattage or suction power as you do with a cylinder cleaner as the dirt has less distance to travel before it reaches the bag or dust container. The type of brushes are more of an important consideration with uprights than the power. You don’t always want to have a vacuum cleaner operating at full power for example, when cleaning upholstery or curtains, so it’s useful to be able to adjust the power level yourself.

Which attachments should I look out for?

Most vacuum cleaners come with three attachments, a crevice tool, upholstery and dusting brushes and a small head which is best for vacuuming stairs. You can also get additional turbo brushes which have their own motor for extra suction which are useful for cleaning deep-pile carpets or a power cleaning head which has electrically powered rotating brushes. A hard-floor or parquet brush is useful for wooden or tiled floors. Some cleaners have extendable tubes which are useful for hard to reach areas like cobwebs in the corners of ceilings.

I have a large house? What should I look out for?

Look for a cleaner with a large cleaning head – this will help cut down the amount of time it takes to vacuum a room. Also get as long a lead as you can get to cut down on the number of times you have to unplug the lead and plug it in again. You may also want to consider getting a model with a large capacity dust collector or bag so that you don’t have to empty it as frequently. If you have a lot of stairs, you may want to get a cylinder model with a long stretchy stair-cleaning hose.

Q: what is green light for on heritage II vacuum cleaners?
your unit is full?
Q: I was pricing vacuum cleaners and some say they have 12 volt motors and some 6 amps. Which is the better buy?
Volts and amps are different things. Power is the product of volts times amps. The motor in the vacuum can be rated in watts or in horse power. 12 volts times 6 amps is 72 watts. This is about 0.1 horsepower (746 watts in one horsepower). Some vacuum cleaners rate their machines suction power in air-watts. A bigger or more powerful motor doesn't always mean better suction. The design could be poor or inefficient so you really need to know how well the machine acutally picks up dust and dirt. The air-watt rating should be a better indicator than just watts or motor size. If you want a good vacuum cleaner, check out Consumer Reports.
Q: Aren't dogs just the Best vacuum cleaners ever?
Yeah, lol.
Q: looking for parts for the power head or the power head with electic hose, vacuum model C-6 it is from the early 1970's
Try looking on OKorder under vintage vacuum cleaners
Q: this house s covered in dirt. im 20 with a 2yr old daughter and almost 16 weks preg with our 2nd. my husband is 22, we live with his dad and sister because mu husbands job keeps cutting hours and hes not making enough to get our own place, and i know some people will be like well if you dont have money to get your own place why have another kid...well i was on birth control both times ok!!! and i dont do abortion, and if i have a child i am going to keep it and take responsiblity and not jut give it away ok!...anyway back to the question...so i want to clean this house, it makes me so mad with how gross it is...everything gets dusty super fast and the carpets always have dirt in them. Our vacuum broke, so is there a way for me to clean all this without a vacuum???
I sweep my carpets because my vacuum broke also. Surprisingly sweeping gets loads up. I had two cats and sweeping always gets more hair up than a vacuum. Also try dusting your carpet with light sprinkling of baking soda this will help cut down on odor and when you get a vacuum you can vacuum it up. Try figuring out what is wrong with it. Typically it is just a busted belt. They sell them at WalMart for a few bucks. Presto, viola, it will work like new - if that's what wrong with it. Pawn shops typically have good prices on used vacuums or you can try to borrow one form family or a neighbor. I used to bake for a neighbor of mine every time I would need to borrow her vacuum, I am sure she loved all the cupcakes and muffins I used to give her. Chin up and keep trying; you are no doubt doing an excellent job with the resources you have ; ) ~Divine Edit: The belt may have slipped off and is consequently rubbing against something it shouldn't. Take it slightly apart (to get to the belt), have a screwdriver handy (you may need it) and take the belt off to examine if it worn, broke or breaking. You may need to take it apart more than that to find out what the problem with it is. It would be a good idea to do all of this outside, it may make a mess. The good news is that vacuum cleaners (most anyway) are pretty easy to repair. Also the vacuum may be clogged somewhere (in the tubing) working the engine way to hard, this could be causing it to smoke or the engine may be just going bad. But this hardly ever happens, usually the rest of the vacuum goes bunk first. Try posting your question about how to repair it in the Home Garden Maintenance Repairs section of Y!A and see if you can get more detailed help. Or try to google repair help for this particular brand and model. I am sure someone else has had the same problem with this vacuum, not everyone has the luxury of throwing out something that breaks and just willy-nilly buy a new one.
Q: In a fit of rage over something that happened at work one day, I came home and it was in my way. I picked it up, beat the hell out of it, and tore it apart with my bare hands. My wife was vacuuming the floor at the time. With hose still in hand, she looked at the mangled remains and exclaimed, 'FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, HON, what the hell that vacuum cleaner ever do to you?'Within 5 minutes, Federal Marshalls, accompanied by a special task force of FBI agents, arrived with a squad of vacuum cleaners from the S.P.C.V.C.:quot;Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Vacuum Cleanersquot;I was arrested per the little known 1982 Vacuum Cleaner Assault Act, taken to Langley, VA, and forced to attend Vacuum Cleaner Anger Management classes. The place was packed.
Good one! :-P I did accidently!!! I was coming home with my vacume I just had repaired, it was a Hoover. The other car I had at the time was a hatch back. well, the clip on it had broken and I was traveling down the highway back home when the back flew open and my vacume took off, hit the ground........................ I was driving like 60 on that freeway and looking out my rear view window at my horror, the poor thing was sparking all over the place and other cars were dodging it in it's pass as it was litterly cruising backwards at high speed! I sincerely hope it didn't cause any accidents but I could have been cited for that. Nevertheless, I had the back door fixed and have a different car now. As for the poor Hoover, it went to the BIG Pearly gates in the sky!!!!!!!!!!!! :-( +(
Q: What value does Voltage indicate for vacuum suction?
You need to explain this better, it makes no sense as it is. edit: no way to know exactly. Voltage alone tells you nothing. But the power used (in watts) could be a guide, if you have that number, in watts. 1400 mA-hour is a measure of the charge stored in the battery, so that is no help, as you need a time number to convert that to mA, which, with the voltage, can give you power in watts. My experience is that hand held vacuum cleaners are all very feeble.
Q: my dog is 1 year old and she is afraid of the vacuum. why is this and how do I stop it? I feel so bad for her when she is whining and barking...
She obviously just doesn't like the noise. Let her outside before vacuuming.
Q: What company produces the world's most efficient vacuum cleaners?
Sebo dart is the best we have ever used. We have had all the other makes including Dyson and this knocks spots off them all. It is used by many professional carpet cleaners
Q: I want to know if they make such a thing. I'm thinking of a vacuum cleaner but besides vacuuming, it sweeps floors and it mops as well. Do they make this? If so can anyone tell me where they sell it and what it's called? Links would be extra, extra helpful!
In UK you can buy vacuum cleaners that vac and shampoo carpets. Two links that might help and I believe there are other manufacturers out there too that do them.
