- Q: ok. soooo.i've got this essay.and i'm stuck.all because i can't figure out the poetic form of War is Kind.help??its only the first five stanzas.Do not weep, maiden, for war is kind. Because your lover threw wild hands toward the sky And the affrighted steed ran on alone, Do not weep. War is kind. Hoarse, booming drums of the regiment, Little souls who thirst for fight, These men were born to drill and die. The unexplained glory flies above them, Great is the battle-god, great, and his kingdom -- A field where a thousand corpses lie. Do not weep, babe, for war is kind. Because your father tumbled in the yellow trenches, Raged at his breast, gulped and died, Do not weep. War is kind. Swift blazing flag of the regiment, Eagle with crest of red and gold, These men were born to drill and die. Point for them the virtue of slaughter, Make plain to them the excellence of killing And a field where a thousand corpses lie.???
- War Is Kind Stephen Crane (1899) Do not weep, maiden, for war is kind, Because your lover threw wild hands toward the sky And the affrighted steed ran on alone, Do not weep. War is kind. Hoarse, booming drums of the regiment, Little souls who thirst for fight, These men were born to drill and die. The unexplained glory flies above them. Great is the battle-god, great, and his kingdom-- A field where a thousand corpses lie. Do not weep, babe, for war is kind. Because your father tumbles in the yellow trenches, Raged at his breast, gulped and died, Do not weep. War is kind. Swift blazing flag of the regiment, Eagle with crest of red and gold, These men were born to drill and die. Point for them the virtue of slaughter, Make plain to them the excellence of killing And a field where a thousand corpses lie. Mother whose heart hung humble as a button On the bright splendid shroud of your son, Do not weep. War is kind!
- Q: Where you stand on one leg with your hands up and out to sides.Isn't standing on one leg in a fight leaving you exposed and vulnerable? What techniques can you actually do from that stance anyway (other than jumping up and kicking with the leg that was on the ground like the karate kid).
- Good question. Apart from the aspect of training, if you use it as a stance like in The Karate Kid in a real street fight or in a pub, it is comically useless. Movies are only movies and the moves are choreographed to captivate the audience's romanticism with Kungfu. But, having said this, the crane stance if used as a transitional move is a practical technique but both outstretched hands are either spear-hands or tiger-claws, not crane-beaks rising from the sides as in The Karate Kid. Or, if targeting only to the frontal opponent, both hands are forward, one fore and the other behind the front hand. The lifted leg is a frontal leg block either with the shin or knee. The knee must reach your solar plexus as a proper position. The whole centre-line is protected for an immediate instance, and is particularly used when there is a sneak attack from the front. But, don't ever use it as a stance waiting for an attack nor with any fanciful stances for that matter in real situations. To be effective with this technique, the person must be able to resist a frontal push while standing on one leg. To achieve this, he has to spend long hours on the 'horse-stance'. The common term for this single-legged stance is Golden Cockerel Standing On One leg, Jin Zi Du Li (my romanisation of Chinese is not to be trusted, but it sounds somewhat like that in Mandarin). As I said earlier, this is a transitional technique and really what follows after is the interesting part.
- Q: What species of crane/heron is at 3:07 of this video?
- Your bird is a Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala)... Now that is pink!!!
- Q: I'm talking about the movie, for those of you who have seen it. If you have seen it, you can probably recall one of the final scenes where head Gamemaker Seneca Crane is being walked to his death by two Peacekeepers. I really want a picture of this! Why? Because the Peacekeeper on the right is my dad! I think it would be awesome if I could get him a picture of this since he is so proud of it! So if anyone knows where I can find a clip of this scene, or knows where I could get a picture, could you please tell me? I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!
- I don't think it would be out there yet, as the movie just came out. I would try searching Seneca Crane and then your dad's name. You also might be able to find it on YouTube. It's really cool that your dad was in the movie!! Good luck finding the picture!
- Q: I've heard of people making 1000 origami cranes as a wedding gift or decoration. I am making them as a gift for my sister-in-law and her husband, whose new baby is due next month. I'm up to 730, so I need to keep plugging away! My question is how should I display them? I've heard of putting them in a gallon jar. I was also thinking of making strings of 100. Do you put the string through the pointy part on the back? Can I arrange them into a mobile? Any ideas would be appreciated.
- it relatively is like asking: once you're making a wish on a taking pictures megastar, will it come real? even although the two are extreme-high quality gestures, no it won't come real. Origami cranes are purely products of paper that are folded to resemble birds; no rely what number you're making, they won't address supernatural expertise inclusive of wish-granting.
- Q: S930 M50 (M125/75) level jib tower crane about how much money
- Do you want to see is that, generally is Sishijiwan
- Q: So I have this teacher for almost 4 years and I didn't very much liked her style of teaching. During my sophomore year I was getting fed up with having her in my favorite class. Unfortunately she got ovarian cancer. Now that I think for what she has done and not acknowledging her, I feel really bad. To make things up I wanted to give her I guess the 1000 cranes before I leave for college. Is it okay to give it to her? If so, what do you do once you have all 1000 of them folded?
- Well I don't think u have anything to feel bad about. Does everyone need to be treated like some kid of a hero because they have cancer? I think that is stupid. With all the people in the world everyone is gonna dislike someone. A ***** is a ***** no matter what disease she may have. After you fold 1000 cranes I think you are supposed to make a wish. Now if you wished that there was something that would remove her from your class, then I would feel guilty. But other than that I don't think you have anything to feel bad about. Or if you were really hard on her too but don't think that jut because she has cancer that she can be a ***** and everyone has to worship her. That is just bullshit. If she gives **** than she must be prepared to take ****. And as for giving them to her, I think it would be a nice gesture, but just think about it. What would you do if someone gave u a thousand paper birds? I think very few people would keep them. Now I don't know if you are supposed to give them away, but if you are, I think you should ive them to someone who means something to you personally and not because they have a disease. It is human nature to not like someone and just because they have cancer it shouldn't change that unless this experience has made them a better person and all that **** that you always hear about. But I don't think you have anything to feel bad about and not liking a teacher is completely normal. Please e-mail me your thoughts on this.
- Q: Has a gift what im a telling that person.
- the meaning is if you make a thousand crane your wish will come true. and if you give someone a paper crane it symbolizes friendship! :)
- Q: How to distinguish self lifting tower crane with counterweight and lifting tower crane without counterweight
- 1 self lifting tower cranes with counterweight are common tower cap tower cranes, plate type tower cranes and flat head tower cranes, characterized by a counterweight made of several concrete on the balance arm,
- Q: i was wondering
- There is a legend that if a person makes 1000 cranes then they get one wish. Cranes are a sign of longevity in Japan and children often make cranes and bring them to a famous shrine in Japan. Not sure if its true or not. I'm testing it out now actually. Just 900 something more cranes to go.
