- It stands for General Packet Radio Service, its a communicatiosn protocol that was introduced to bridge the gap between old GSM and new CDMA standards Its based on Time Division multiplexing, which allows users to access the entire bandwidth of a channel at the time it needs to transmit. Thus it is packet based transmission since the data is transmitted in bursts rather than at one go. This means more users can occupy the same bandwidth, which makes it more efficient than normal GSM.

- I have Boost Mobile and I purchased the Motorola i335 and am very unhappy with it. It's terrible for text and has a short battery charge. The small display on my phone is very scratched already with just normal use. I tried to return the phone in the first week after I purchased it with no luck. I have the 50. Unlimited plan and added 10. for unlimited international text. No one else I've found offers unlimited international text. Boost has the best plan I've found but poor service quality and the Motorola i335 is not a good phone. I know this does'nt answer your question but may be helpful.

- It does seem a little late, although upgrades don't move forward on the weekends so it's only 3 business daysstill, I'd think it would at least have been sent to UPS by now. (You're putting your mobile number in track by reference on the UPS site, right?) I would call 611 to see if the phone is maybe on backorder or something.

- Yes you can still keep your tmobile number. When you cancel with tmobile, tell them you want to port it to another carrier. Then when you're signing up with ATT, there should be an option asking if you have any numbers from another carrier you want to transfer over. Hope that helps.

Either you are already a customer of theirs…. Or…. plan on being a customer of theirs in the next 10-15 minutes. Lmao 2) Branded wireless carrier phones sold at Full Price (499-699) on national retailer sotres and sites (walmart, amazon, radioshack, best buy) are locked to that carrier. You must call the carrier to obtain the unlock code. 3) Non-branded wireless carrier phones are sold ONLY by the OEM and are naturally unlocked, may/may not have additional hardware/software installed than basic wireless carrier versions, and are geared, mod’d more to developers and techs rather than the idiot sheeple of the general public. They are $699-$999…

- No, it will NOT work. Amp'd Mobile's phones are MVNO, which piggybacks off of Verizon's CDMA EV-DO network in the US or Telus Mobility's CDMA EV-DO network in Canada. CDMA does not use sim cards. Cingular's phones and network are GSM, which require a sim card in order to work. They are two completely different technologies and are not compatible with each other.
