- The finish on those doors looks like they are in good condition so there shouldn't be a problem with repainting them. You will first need to rough up the surface a little with a 120-150 grit sandpaper. Just a quick go over is adequate . I would suggest a good quality interior high gloss acrylic latex paint as that is the most durable of paints and recommended for woodwork, windowsills, and doors. That type of paint has the most scrubbability which is what you want. Use a high quality synthetic paint brush and while painting in one direction, lightly go back across your strokes for a brush mark free surface. I really like Olympic Paint , if you can find that anymore. Adding some Flowtrol to your paint before applying it will drastically reduce any brush marks also. With Flowtrol, any marks just melt into the wet paint until gone , and that I love. Doesn't matter whether wood or plastic, both surfaces will accept new paint if prepared correctly and you needn't a special paint for one or the other.
