- Q: Can solar panels be installed in areas with high seismic activity?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed in areas with high seismic activity. However, extra precautions need to be taken during the installation process to ensure their stability and resistance to earthquakes. Specialized mounting systems, such as those with adjustable foundation designs or seismic restraints, can be utilized to secure the panels in such areas. Additionally, it is crucial to comply with local building codes and regulations to ensure the panels are installed safely and can withstand seismic events.
- Q: I am looking for an average sized solar panel (Just Panel), not 2 big n not 2 small. Any idea where i can find in abudhabigt;??
- Abu Dhabi Solar plant Shams will be completed by the end of this year and will be ready to provide Abu Dhabi with power at commercial prices. Construction began during [the third quarter] of 200. The project's cost is $600 million (Dh2.2 billion) and with its completion, it will be the largest solar project in the world, Yousuf Al Ali, General Manager of Shams Power Company told Gulf News. Once completed, Shams will be one of the largest concentrated solar power [CSP] plants in the world, extending over an area of 2.5 square kilometres with a capacity of approximately 00MW and a solar field consisting of 768 parabolic trough collectors, Al Ali said. He added: Shams is a joint venture between Masdar (60 per cent), Total (20 per cent) and Abengoa (20 per cent). - Q: Can solar panels be installed on a barn or agricultural building?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a barn or agricultural building. In fact, it is becoming increasingly common for farmers and landowners to install solar panels on their barns or agricultural buildings to generate renewable energy and reduce their dependence on traditional power sources.
- Q: Can solar panels be used for powering outdoor signage?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power outdoor signage. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, providing a sustainable and renewable energy source for outdoor signage. This eliminates the need for traditional electricity sources, reduces energy costs, and minimizes the environmental impact.
- Q: I contend:As far as the solar panels causing global warming I'll try to explain. If you put a black panel on the ground or on your house and don't connect it to anything, it will absorb solar energy (heat) during daylight and release it at night (radiation). The net heat gain is zero. If you hook up a solar panel in the same place but hook it up to batteries, charge the batteries during sunlight hours and using that energy to electrically heat the home at night. The panels will absorb solar energy during the day but will convert that to electrical energy in the batteries instead of radiating it back into space at night. The result is a net gain in earth's temperature.Right or wrong?
- Solar energy is very inefficient, and so most of the sunlight that is absorbed by the solar cells is re-radiated back as heat. But that leads to a bigger point. Global warming is the ability, or inability of the Earth to radiate heat/light out past the atmosphere into space. Once the light reaches the surface and is absorbed, it doesn't matter whether it was by a black panel or a solar panel. Energy is energy. A black panel does not radiate energy into space, it emits it into the atmosphere. The use of electrical energy also generates heat which is transferred to the atmosphere sooner or later. The advertised culprit of global warming is atmospheric greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, that reflect infrared wavelength energy from the surface back down to the surface. The heat generated by sunlight on a black panel, or from the use of electrical energy, is reflected back by the greenhouse gases instead of radiating out into space, no matter what the source. So no, solar panels do not contribute to global warning simply because of their transfer of light into electricity instead of infrared/heat. The source of the heat (black panel or electrical use) is not the (whole) problem. It is the greenhouse gases that trap the heat that is the problem, according to the global warming theory. I hope this helps.
- Q: Around this time here in Georgia we will begin to get some big storms with high winds. I have a solar panel on a mount that isn't all that sturdy and could be knocked over with any winds pretty much above 5mph. I can't put anything in the ground to do this. I used to have it mounted to the roof of a playground for the most sunlight, but because of the angle of the sun and the tree leaves, I have to have it on a quot;portablemount so I can move it throughout the day, and I can tell you one thing is certain, and that's that it isn't the most sturdy thing ever. I'll have it a little better next weekend but it'll still be able to easily blow in the wind. Should I just hang the panel along the wall during a storm then reconnect it to its base once it's over?I'm pretty good with wood, so any wood creations to help out with the thing would greatly help. Just please keep it on a low budget.
- You have to make the decision weather you want it portable or stationary. If you want stationary I would make some good brackets for them / search for cheap ones on OKorder. I'd have to see them to be able to offer any better suggestions. It's always hard to decide so you'll have to take notes and do research.
- Q: I own a townhome in the Phoenix area (my power company's SRP, if that makes a difference). Phoenix is a great place for solar. I could probably save money, in the long term, if I got some solar panels. But I am currently extremely broke, so I can't buy solar panels unless I will more or less immediately be paying no more than I am now per month, with little or nothing down. And most of the solar leasing places won't work with me, because (as is common for townhomes) I don't technically own my roof. I have permission to put things on it, but the property management people (or whoever actually owns my roof) won't sign the lease or whatever.Anyone know of either a way to buy solar panels without paying significantly more per month than I already do for electricity, or a solar leasing company that can work with the restrictions I have?
- The big problem is that you cannot force the homeowners association to do anything. I live in a condo with a HOA. We have outside parking spaces. The goonies won't let people run electric lines to parking spaces to charge electric cars. Several years ago, residents had to sue the HOA in court because they would not allow satellite dishes on buildings. The HOA lost. You don't have money to pay an attorney so you are out of luck.
- Q: i also need to know how does a solar panel work
- solar panel convert sunlight into electricity,The controller is connected between the photovoltaic panels and batteries,it makes electricity generated from solar panels charge batteries.
- Q: Are there any risks associated with solar panel installation?
- Yes, there are a few risks associated with solar panel installation. Some potential risks include the risk of falling during installation, electrical shock or fire hazards if not installed correctly, potential damage to the roof during installation, and the risk of panels not performing as expected due to factors like shading or poor maintenance. However, these risks can be minimized by hiring a professional installer, following safety guidelines, and ensuring proper maintenance and monitoring of the solar panel system.
