Q:i have a wheel in my rat cage but when they run on it it makes an extremely annoying sound. it's especially annoying when i try to sleep b/c the cage is right next to me. do they really need that wheel?
Wheels are great exercise so you should definitely keep the wheel. I have exactly the same problem with the wheel i have and my rats. I now put the wheel in the cage in the evening and take it out just before i go to bed. You could also try attaching it to the side of the cage - use cable ties to attach the stand to the cage bars. This may stop the wheel rattling but probably wouldn't stop the sound of the rats running. I even once tried to glue a felt strip around the inside of the wheel to stop the sound of their feet. It fell off though. Hope i helped :)
Q:Do they align the wheels base on the factory setting of the car, meaning that they adjust the wheel settings to the default factory state, regardless of whatever u have different wheels, and because of that, you still drift to one side. Or do they align the wheels base on what you have, and make sure it runs on level, and going straight, regardless what the default factory state setting?
Non stock wheels would not make any difference during a regular four wheel alignment *unless the backspacing, wheel width and diameter was different than the OEM (origional equipment manufactures) wheel specifications. To tell you the truth a good alignment shop technition would drive the car prior to doing the alignment to feel any irregularities in the steering wheel. That helps them zero in on potential issues. Shops do deviate from the manufactures alignment specifications slightly to correct steering difficulties only if all suspension hardware is in otherwise good shape. Glad you said wheel alignment instead of front end alignment. Front wheel drive cars have more adjustments in the rear wheels than the front. Rear wheel driven cars with a solid third member (rear wheels) only have adjustments in the front. Corvettes and the new Camaro are rear wheel driven but have independant rear suspension which means many rear wheel adjustments. Right off the bat I'd like to warn you that any car that tracks perfectly on an airport runway will pull very slightly to the right on a road which has a crown in the center.
Q:i have a 2006 toyota matrix xr. I am looking to make it look more sport. Right now it has the factory wheels on it. I am look for something that looks cool and is under $700 for all four wheels. Oh and the car is like a gray color. Thanks
Here is a whole bunch of wheels for your Matrix. I really suggest Platinum wheels, i personally think they look the best. They make great looking wheels. But i think you will find plenty of wheels that will fit under your budget range. But i cannot tell you what wheel to actually get, because that is only my opinion, everyone has a different point of view on everything. But either get a crome wheel or a glossy black wheel. Do not get gray because it looks dirty all the time.
Q:What is the difference between flywheel horsepower and wheel horsepower
Fly wheel HP is the horse power put out directly by the engine only. Wheel hp is the hp put out at the actual wheels that are driven by the engine and takes the gearing down of the engine into consideration
Q:does anyone know how to remove my steering wheel from a 96 mitsubishi ecplise
Go to a dealership , mechanic,or find your neighborhood car thief.
Q:RT! Please describe in detail what impact, the original tires for the 16-inch, want to change the 17, even with the wheel shell replaced, there is better in OKorder where to change
No problem, as long as you change within a certain range, I was 2.0T MAGOTAN, 09 years, then the original car is equipped with 215 55 16 tires, I now change the 235 45 17, no problem, But if the road conditions are poor, the hub of the big mouth of the tire flat than large, easy to break down, according to road conditions change.
Q:If you have a wheel and axle simple machine, like a doorknob, where would the resistance force, the effort force, and the fulcrum be? Thank you!
confusing stuff. check out from yahoo or google. that will help!
Q:The way I understand it, backspacing will effect how far out/in you wheels are when on the car. So if I decrease my backspacing, my wheels will stick out farther? If so is this safe to do? I just want the wheels flush with the body of the car.
if you wish the wheels to stick out further, you must add a spacer/s or move the wheel centre closer to the back of the rim, adding small thickness spacers will not damage your wheel brg, but for the best look keep the back spacing the same and buy rims that are wider along with new rubber.
Q:I‘m building a tricycle that will have rear-wheel traction, fed to the wheels via an axle.Planning to remove the bearing parts, yet the wheel axle will still be smooth on the inside. How do I get the axle to bite in order for the wheels to rotate with no loss of energy? Thanks
First, keep in mind that only ONE wheel should have power to it or when you turn the outside wheel will skid around and might make you lose control. If you are planning to use a standard wheel for the drive wheel, take the bearings out then tighten the cones right into the hub body. REALLY tight. Add a locknut on both ends of the axle. The next question is, how are you planning to drive that wheel without a LONG axle that extends to the chainline? Were it me doing this I would use a piece of 3/4 diameter (19mm) heavy gauge tubing and have it welded to the hub, then work out a differential that houses the bearings at both ends. Unless you are very good at this type of thing I am afraid you'll discover that it would be cheaper to buy a ready-made trike. I just thought of something that would be really cool. how about modelling a big bike after a kiddies bike- with pedals on the front wheel? That would solve all your problems- just make crank arms that'll fit the front wheel and also act as the axle.
