Q: Two wires are placed parallel to each other. What would be the effect of passinga) upward current through both wiresb) an upward current throgh one wire and a downward current through the other.Explain.
a) When the currents through both the wires are in the same direction, the magnetic field due to each midway between them, by right-hand thumb rule, will be in opposite directions. This will result in attraction between the wires. b) When the currents through both the wires are in the opposite directions, the magnetic field due to each midway between them, by right-hand thumb rule, will be in the same direction. This will result in respulsion between the wires.
Q: at least 3 examples for wire and wireless......
Wire simplex: Serial data from GPS to PC or autopilot using 2 wires. Wire, half duplex: Theatrical intercom, with push to talk buttons for each spotlight operator. Wire, full duplex: telephone. Wireless, simplex: infrared remote control for TV. Wireless, half duplex: walkie-talkie, family radio service, cb radio. Wireless, full duplex cellphone, cordless phone.
Q: I just read an article about a man who was electrocuted by a live overhead wire while trimming a tree. Horrible. My question is I see squirrels running on all the overhead wires. How do they not get electrocuted?
You have to have a complete circuit. A man trimming trees may touch two wires at the same time or may touch one and the other wire is grounded causing the ground to act as the second wire. You cannot get electrocuted by touching just one wire. Technically, since one wire is grounded and we are on the ground we are touching one wire continuously. Also the squirl may be on a low voltage telephone wire or an insulated wire. If it's a bare wire and he doesn't jump onto the wire but rather reaches out from a tree and touches both at the same time he'll get shocked too.
Q: I have a set of pilot wi-200 strobe lights and they have three wires and i want to hook them up to a optx headlight strobe control module the wires are gray white and black can you tell me where to hook them
I wouldn't try it. The gray, white, and black wires are the high voltage strobe wires. The control module changes the patterns before the voltage is increased. There is nothing you can do here.
Q: 2 wires and ground to oven with 3 wires and ground
Regarding the cooktop: It has NO 120 v component, no timer, electronic controls, etc. Again it has a red, black, and bare ground in the whip. I have also looked around at a number of models like this and none requires anything more than 40 amp circuit and 8 gauge wire. Regarding the double oven: It has some 120 V components, a timer, electronic controls, and lights (it is a pretty modern system). I also downloaded the manual for this model from Maytag's site and it indicates that 8-gauge wire should be used, but the drawings only indicate a 4-wire whip. I triple-checked again tonight and I can only find the 3 wires - red, black, and white. I couldn't pull the ovens out as we were working on the floors. I can do that later. So I am wondering what to do. I can try to call Maytag and see if someone can help me. However, the manual has confused me - perhaps it is for a more recent version of this particular model double oven. Then manual also says If codes permit and a separate ground wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrical installer determine that the ground path and the wire gauge are in accordance with local codes. Check with a qualified electrical installer if you are not sure the oven is properly grounded. This oven must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system. Manual also says 40 am service - 8 gauge wire required.
Q: In constructing a large mobile, an artist hangs an aluminium sphere of mass 6kg from a vertical steel wire 0.50m long. On the bottom of the sphere he attaches a similar steel wire, from which hae hangs a brass cube of mass 10kg. How would i calculate the tension in each wire?
The length of the wire is inconsequential unless you're calculating stretch. The tensile force in the upper wire is simply: Fu = 6 + 10 = 16 kg The tensile force in the lower wire is simply: Fl = 10 kg If you want tensile stress, then you need the wire's cross-sectional area.
Q: Its a 3 wire chandelier, 2 are attached like a regular electric cord and the third is separate. all are the same color. the ceiling has 2 wires. one tan/white and the other is red. I am comfortable with doing the connections but unsure what wires to connect
One of the chandelier wires will go to the red and the other to the white wire--it does not matter which one goes to which. The third wire is likely bare (or green) and is a ground wire. Connect this wire to the ceiling box and to the third wire in the ceiling if there is one.
Q: What are the types of Barbed wires?
depends upon which type of animal you wish to keep in the pen comes in many types and twists - each one different for the job that needs done some of the twists/patterns are for individual farmers - like a signature, its theirs alone - identifies their property lines - that doesn't include razortina wire - that is a whole different thing the tatoo stuff is made up - like a comic book, not real patterns google it for more details too many to type here
Q: Why is the current limiting circuit used to measure the resistance of wire by voltammetry?
Sliding rheostat, voltage sharing method and current limiting method can adjust the load current (voltage), but under the same conditions, the adjustment effect is different, the actual application should be based on the appropriate choice of appropriate methods.
Q: I want wired internet on my xbox and was wondering if you need a wired router or can u just us a modem?
a router wired or wireless is not necessary, but it's useful if you have a computer.if you only connect your console, plug your ethernet cable from your modem to your console
