Hard wire means it's not just plugged in. eg. using the cigarette lighter but instead is permanently wired in. All you need to do is wire the lights ground wire to any ground wire under the dash eg. ignition ground or radio ground ( wire will be black ) or directly to a screw that goes into any metal part of the chassis and wire the lights positive wire to either the accessory wire from your ignition (lights come on when car is on) or a constant power wire eg. radio power wire and wire in a toggle switch so you can turn the lights on or off at will.

The blue wire I see is attached to the Oxygen sensor (O2). If that is loose there must be a plug where it goes. That is not shown in your picture. Here's how starters are wired: The BIG red wire comes directly from the battery to the solenoid. Also going to the solenoid is/are (a) control wire(s). Typically there's only one control wire. When you turn the key you energize the control wire. That in turn pulls the solenoid in sending the starter gear into the ring gear on the flywheel. The solenoid also makes contact between the BIG red wire and the actual starter motor itself supplying power to the motor and starts spinning the engine. Older model cars have the second wire going to the solenoid do so to supply unresisted 12 volts to the ignition coil. With computer managed engines this is not necessary, the computer does the work. The instructions seem pretty straight-forward. T-Taps and squeeze-connectors are basically the same thing; achieving the same results, which is to add a connection to an existing wire without interrupting the line. Just make sure you use the right size and type, meaning; don't use a low-voltage connector for a high-voltage application... You'd just fry it up. Never wire anything into your fuse box, that will defeat the purpose of having it. You will have to do what's called a hard wire. You will need to run all new wires, which is the safest way to do it, with all proper fusing. A constant +12, a switched +12 and a ground is all you need for the radio to work, and all new speaker wires. If you can find one in a junkyard, you might be able to find a new harness to repair the OEM one, and that would really help you out. Good luck!
