Q:I am doing a power point project for my business class in college. Was told to pick a company in the financial service area. For my part of the project I need to create a slide on the weaknesses of chase bank. What could cause chase to fall? What are some areas it is lacking? Etc. etc.
They deal in volume banking. They just want as many accounts as they can get, its all quantity and no quality. Poor customer service compared to other banks. Higher fees than other banks. Less one on one service, no personal bankers on personal checking. Long lines, because they have to few workers inside. Usually 1 person in the drive thru and the bank at the location I go to, its horrible
Q:I’m looking to purchase an inverter for use on my boat. I have 3 12v batteries in parallel, with a switch. So, I save one for ignition, but the other 2 (260AH together) I use for appliances. Most applications are run through 12v, but I’m looking to run an AC mini fridge (propane and 12v fridges are too expensive and I already have this one), one laptop charger (85watts) and 1 usb phone charger. I’ve tried a 400w inverter but apparently the compressor turn on of the fridge is over the 800w surge that the inverter is capable of. So my question is 2. 1, can an 800w (1600w surge) inverter handle this 3 item load? 2, how much power loss will I be incurring from the inefficiency of the power inverter? I was told that a 400w inverter run on standby with no load for 24hrs would use about 9AH from my 12v bank. Not sure if that’s right or wrong or if I can assume an 800w would be 16AH or not? Thanks so much for the help
Realisticly, a power inverter is the most inefficient way to power those needs. That cheap inverter can damage both of those chargers. The reason is that it only creates a Modified Sine Wave at 60hz for 110-120 volts. Sensitive equipment cannot handle the modified wave long term. The fridge should be OK, but is still subject to damage. While you'll save money upfront, it'll cost you money long term, and kill those batteries in about 2 hours, then how are you going to charge them? I own a boat with 10 size 8D batteries for my house bank of batteries, but I still run my generator away from the dock. I have an AC Inverter, but rarely use it. My inverter produces a full Sine Wave due to all of the sensitive equipment on board. Downside is that the inverter when in use can draw 350 Ah and not meet the needs of my boat, but even with all of those HUGE batteries, I only have 5 hours max, of standby power with the inverter. A small Honda generator would be the best solution. Those have a full wave 60hz at 120 vac, and you can run it when you need it and never worry. Those generators were made for sensitive equipment that cannot handle modified wave power. I have one for when we use the smaller Sport boat and for camping.
Q:If someone has power of attorney, does that give them the right to claim anything belonging to the grantee or close out there bank account??
claim anything is pretty odd wording. You can't steal something. Close out a bank account? If it is a standard financial POA, it give the power to transact financially; closing an account would certainly fall under that power.
Q:I have heard that Generators have dirty power. Can't be used for Electronics. TVs, Computers and the like. How can I eliminate this problem, I live in a place that I will run a generator (5Kw) for my hole house.

Q:I would like to know who deregulated airlines, banks, and electic power
Airlines were deregulated by the same folks who regulated them: the federal government. Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 Banks are regulated by both federal and state laws, which have been greatly loosened over the last 25 years. Electricity is regulated by both state and federal laws, which have been loosened over the last decade.
Q:I heard just today 7/11/08 that Indymac Bank closed, or crashed or something. Theoretically, if i owe a mortgage on a house through Indymac bank, because they went belly under i no longer owe them. Is this true? I heard that no one will want to buy the bank because they are in so much debt. Is that true? please post answers along with some evidence. So that i know its not an opinion.
from what I understand, Indymac has not closed, they are not accepting new mortgage applications. Depending on whether or not they have sold your loan to a servicer, you may still have to pay indymac, and make no mistake, you still have to pay your mortgage. even if they went belly under, they could sell your mortgage to a servicer, legally, and you would have to pay the servicer. There is a 15/15/60 day rule in place by the federal governement. If indymac sells your loan, they have 15 days to inform you. the servicer has 15 days to send you a hello letter, informing you that company x is now servicing your loan, you can pay indymac for 60 days without being penalized. hope this helps
Q:I have small electrical item its electrical plug which I call adapter output is DC 12 volts so when I plug this adapter into AC outlet of 220 volts my item starts running. Now I need to run this item at remote location where there is no electricity possibly for one hour or more I have power bank to charge my iPhone can I use that or can I run it thu normal alkaline batteries can i run it by car battery need some easier and simpler solution. Thanks
The short answer is that you can use a car battery to power whatever electronic device is running on 12VDC. You may need to make your own power cable to attach to a 12V socket, or you might be able to use something already on the market. Note that if the electronic device is very sensitive (computer, circuit board, etc) and it doesn't have any power conditioning built in, you should use a DC to DC power supply. The electrical system of a car produces a lot of spikes, drops, and EMF that might harm your device. These power supplies are in the range of 100-500USD.
Q:Hello-I am in the process of buying a house that was repossesed from the bank The house has no power to it and the water system is currently winterized That means I can't tell if the furnace is OK, I can't tell if the well has water in it or if the water system is OK, I can't tell if the septic system is OK either WHat can I do to make sure I an not buying more headaches than I know what to do with? It is a beautiful house that needs a little TLC and it will be perfect, but I am a bit leary of these three main items ANy help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. The house is located in Northern Ma and right now it's a steal, but If I need a new well, septic, furnace it will be a giant money pit. Thanks for your input.
Make a conditional offer, that is, If the above mentioned items are not in good working order, adjustments will be made to the purchase price or the deal is off.
Q:I just recieved a Harbor Freight generator with an 800/900 max watt capacity as a gift. I want to use it to power a 29 foot travel trailer (lights, microwave, tv, fridge, radio). I will be living in it so I want a way to give it power 24/7. I know this generater is not big enough to do that, but could I possibly charge 2-4 deep cell batteries to do the trick? I don't know much about this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
400w isn't all that much! Most high-end computers use about that. A fridge uses anywhere from 900-2.1kw/hrs Which is way more than your 400w windmill can provide. Combine that windmill with a power storage center and you should be able to run a full fridge off of it As fridges are only on for about 10m out of every hour (but draw way more than 400w while they're on).
