- Q: how does ambition and power for Saddam Hussein gets out of hand??
- Nor ambition neither power. He was a nationalist lieder and his country have a lot of oil. John Rockefeller Senator has said that only lies were the reason to invade Iraq. During Hussein times USA government made an embargo against Iraq, the money of this embargo continue in USA banks. If Iraqi new government want the money back, they must to accept an agreement for which USA military presence would be for ever. Iranian president and Venezuela president are not evil, propaganda try to put them as evil people because their lands have a lot of oil.
- Q: I am looking to get a power of attorney to make a purchase of a property for my mother. My mother is a foreign national, who travels to the US using a Visitors Visa. She currently has various US bank account. I would be making the purchase of a property using those account. How do i go about obtaining a power of attorney document in Virginia, USA. Where should the documents be file or does it just have to be notoried.?
- The simplest way is to have her wire the money into your account, make the initial purchase in your name, and then you deed it straight over to her. However, that still leaves you open to Title problems, such as undisclosed liens, which the Seller might be hiding or might be unaware of, and Fraud, such as a Seller who doesn't own the property, or curable defects such as improper Probate in the record, then there are Environmental concerns, and the list goes on. Bottom line is that you need an attorney, and the attorney already knows what the Power of Attorney has to be, it's a commonly used form in such transactions, and there might be issues with a foreign-executed POA. As bigreg says, get an attorney, don't try this on your own.
- Q: Hey All, So my family has been having trouble concerning my grandmother and grandfather and their possessions. They have both been placed in a nursing home, and at this point both are not both there.in non-scientific terms. But, a few months ago before their state deteriorated, my mother typed up a document that stated she would be in charge of their bank card, vehicle, etc. She had it signed by my grandmother, signed by a witness, and notarized. Is that considered official document making her the power of attorney? If so, does that mean anything listed in that document is now her responsibility? Thanks
- A power of attorney is permission for your mother to act just as your grandmother would act. She would be able to sign her checks, sell her car pay her taxes, etc. The power of attorney is just a notice to everyone that your grandmother gave your mother permission to do stuff for her. It does not mean that your mother HAS to do the stuff. It sounds like the document that she and your grandmother signed is a good power of attorney. - Stuart
- Q: Critics charged that President Franklin D. Roosevelt's plan to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices was in conflict withthe Supreme Court's practice of judicial restraint the constitutional principle of checks and balances attempts of Congress to limit judicial responsibilities efforts to restrict the number of terms a President could serveA major complaint of western farmers in the late 19th century concerned the increase in the number of immigrant settlers restrictive land policies of the United States heavy military expenditures of the Federal Government power of banks and railroads over the farm economy
- 1) The consitutional principle of checks and balances (FDR wanted to stack the court with justices that he knew would support his New Deal plan.) 2) Power of banks and railroads over the farm econmy (Banks were charging enormous rates on their loans and railroads were able to control supply/demand)
- Q: I see in Article 1 Section 8 that they have the power to coin money and establish value thereof. I would assume that would include bills of credit as well until I read Article 1 Section 10. It denies the states the power to coin money and it also denies them the power to emit bills of credit. So it has made it very clear that coin money and emit bills of credit are different powers of government. But wait, where does it say that bills of credit can NOT be emitted by the Federal Government? O shoot the 10th amendment forbids the Federal Government from taking any action that is not authorized by the Constitution and its Amendments. Now I understand that the Supreme Court does not interpret it like this. They did at first with Hepburn v. Griswold but that was overturned by Knox v. LeeWhat do you think?
- Interesting. I have never had that one questioned. I will have to look into it deeper, as it seems that you are 100% accurate. And the Supreme Court has been misinterpreting the Constitution for quite some timeThe States need to reclaim their rights by nullifying ALL federal usurpations of powerand the Supreme Court has no Constitutional power to stop them. For those about to mention the Supremacy Clause.the federal government is superior to the states ONLY in those limited powers granted to the federal government, not across the board.
- Q: i was wondering if an example of concurrent power would be to charter banks?
- No, don't think so. The two are somewhat related and do meet at times but the relation is more complex
- Q: I have a Power of Attorney, signed by my husband in 2001, which I used for buying/selling homes, cars, filing income tax, etc. No problems. Should I be able to use it for banking matters (separate accounts), or has it expired? He's not available, due to jail, and keeps telling me that it is still good. The bank doesn't seem to think so.It's our money, in his account!
- It all depends on what type of Power of Attorney you have. There durable and non-durable. He is correct when he says there is no expiration date, but like one other person who answered your question, I would be hesitant if it was five years old. If he is incarcerated he can get another P of A free of charge by requesting it with inmate services. Perhaps you might suggest that to him and that would solve the problem of it not being accepted at some places. Another option would be to record it with the county and use a certified copy. That might help.
- Q: I need to get power of attorney at a bank. My mother recently died. My father's name is on the account but he is unable to make financial decisions.
- Either your dad would have to sign a power of attorney and have it notarized, or you'd have to go to court and have him declared incompetent. If he's competent but just unable to make financial decidions, go to the bank with him, they can help you with the paperwork needed to conduct financial transactions on his behalf.
- Q: How to maintain mobile power?
- (5) Do not use batteries for long periods.
- Q: funeral,,there is no will.can we take the money out of the account ,,,ihave the bank card
- I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Like the other responses, your Power of Attorney no longer applies. The solutions really depend on what state you live in. Depending on how much money your mom had in her accounts, different states have different Small Estate laws (for example, total estate not to exceed $10,000), where you can settle an estate without going through probate. All you would need is a death certificate. Additionally, a few states do allow a one-time partial withdrawal for funeral expenses with only a death certificate. The best thing to do is check with your bank to determine a solution.
