Q: I have a plan under sprint and my sister has broken her phone then lost my old back up phone. can i buy a cheap prepaid virgin mobile phone and activate it for sprint? please no jokes about using other carriers, sprint is the only thing that has any good signal where i live (nowhere).
No you can't at this time. It might be possible in the future as Sprint just bought out Virgin Mobile as of last month and they will take at least another six months integrating the two operations. Right now, Sprint only allows Sprint phones and Virgin Mobile only allows Virgin Mobile phones Btw, Virgin Mobile runs on the Sprint network ANYWAY, maybe you want to just buy a Virgin Mobile phone and run it on Virgin Mobile seeing as it is the same as Sprint (except for no roamingbut if Sprint is the only network that works in your area anyway, roaming is not an issue because that involves other carriers besides Sprint.). Virgin Mobile has better prices then Sprint anyway. If you are stuck with the Sprint plan, find a cheap used Sprint phone via Craigslist or OKorder and make sure that the esn/electronic serial number is clean (email the seller on OKorder and find out what the number is first, call Sprint customer care and check to make sure it is clean/not stolen/lost or has money owed to Sprint on it). If it is good to go, buy it. You should be able to activate it on Sprint.
Q: Hey guys, so I am getting a new phone and have no idea what to get. I had verizon, but after the two year contract, I got to overwhelmed with the price. I usually don't call that much, but I send a very large amount of texts. I want something that is very durable because I do tend to drop all my phones. I was considering the Samsung Intercept, the Blackberry Curve, and the LG Rumor touch.IF you could help me decide if Virgin mobile is worth the money and if the phones are good thatd be great. Also, which one of the phones you like the best.XOX,CALIlt;3
This one is easy. Intercept! It's the most expensive of the three, but it is the only Android phone. The Rumor is crap, and the Curve, in my opinion, sucks compared to an Android phone. If you want a cheaper contract service, go with Sprint (who owns Virgin's towers). You'll pay about the same as going with Virgin (70/mth with 450 minutes, Unlimited Txt, Unlimited Web, Unlimited Sprint TV) and you'll not have to worry if you forget to put money on your phone.because if you forget with Virgin, your phone will cut off. Also, phone wise, the Intercept will run you as low as 20.00 while with Virgin, it'll be more like 250.
Q: I was just wondering, If i bought a G1 (ATT Subscriber) without contract and just unlock it through the web service for $24 will I be able to use it? Or do I first need a T Mobile sim to activate the phone?I am confused by the last question there, so please help.
You need a T-Mobile account and data plan just to set the phone up initially. I have one, so I've done it. When you first fire up the phone, it expects to find a T-Mobile sim with an active data plan, and you have to set up Google access with either an existing account or a new account set up on the phone. Once you do that, I understand you can unlock the phone and use it with other GSM systems (like ATT), but there are a couple of caveats: 1. You won't be able to use the T-Mobile data network, even with a ATT data plan. 2. You can allegedly tweak the phone to use the ATT data network, but you still have to have a data plan to do so. 3. You won't have any 3G access on ATT or T-Mobile's network. It will work with the edge network, but since the phoen si a 3G phone, you lost the advantage of that higher speed network. To me, doing it this way is no advantage. Even though ATT has better 3G coverage (currently), T-Mobile is rapidly rolling theirs out, and it is available in many major cities. I have it where I work in DC, but not where I live yet in Jacksonville, Florida, but the edge network works there really well. I know you have an ATT plan, but if your contract is up or close to it, I'd switch. I'm very happy with T-Mobile (been with them many years) and the G1 is an excellent phone.
Q: im getting a new phone. but don't know which is the best. whats your favorite t-mobile phone ? (:
galaxy sby far my favorite phone of all time it has so much awesomeness i can only begin to describe it, if u are getting a new phone i highly recommended this one.
Q: Hi. Lets try this again and see if anyone knows I recently upgraded to a new cell phone(an LG Dare with Verizon) and am now able to get into yahoo Messenger. My question is when I sign into Messenger using my mobile phone, is there a way to show myself asavailable to some of my contacts and not to the others at the same time? If so how do I go about showing myself online(mobile) to the few and not the others like one can do on the computer? Thank you so much in advance :)
yai totally agree with you man!
Q: ahoyweird one for ya.I've had a few problems with people harrassing me, they are violent types and although they don't know where I am, I heard someone say they could 'track my mobile' because they do know my mobile number (yeah im about to get a new mobile but still). Looking on google I see plenty of sites that advertise this abiltity.is it possible? I thought only the police etc could do it.Do they only need my mobile number to track? or do they need to know the sim number as wellthey don't know my simcheers
Everything you need about anyone or anything! eVerify is detective company usually do background checks. They reputable that has been around since 1999 and they never had any issues with that site from the last few years. I think you should try them
Q: details about various brands of mobile phone and its uses
it depends on the type of service that you want (e.i. T-Mobile, ATT, Sprint, ) and the type of phone depends on the needs of the phone. Like if you talk alot and will continuously use your phone, a blackberry would be good, but if you just want something to talk on than a cheap samsung will do just that
Q: I was wondering if you also could use a japanese mobile phone outside Japan? And I mean that someone from Japan comes in Europe and wants to call his family in Japan or something. Would it be possible to call with his mobile phone?Another thing:I got the fact about Japanese people sending each other emails rather than sms cuz it wouldn't fit with the kanji and such. But now I was wondering, what if they have like a friend from England who isn't able to send or receive email with his phone? Can the japanese guy that choose to sms him? I mean with the kanji it wouldn't matter because they'll have to communicate in English. Just wondering if the japanese people still use the sms function. Also if they send someone an email with their phone, is that person than able to see that email on his mobile phone AND on the computer? Or is the email address someone has on his phone completely different than the email address he had on his computer? So many questions ^^ Please give me loads of answers :)Thanks!
I was wondering if you also could use a japanese mobile phone outside Japan? You need to be more specific. If he comes to Europe temporarily, and still has a contract with Japanese carrier, he must have a cell phone with global roaming service. If there is a global roaming service, he can. cuz it wouldn't fit with the kanji and such. It's not a matter of kanji. Japanese cell phones are designed to exchange emails, no matter if it's alphabets or kanji. Can the japanese guy that choose to sms him? It depends on which phone he's using. There is no single answer. The bottom line is, he can do it with some phones. is that person than able to see that email on his mobile phone AND on the computer? Usually, no. Email address of cell phone is usually different from that of computer. But you can forward it to your computer, as you know.
Q: i have an att sim card and the service but i really like this phone i saw at target but itz for t-mobile.ANSWERZ PLEZ
if you have the phone unlocked, yes it will work.
Q: Mobile phone is closer to the distance between people? Or alienated the distance between people?
The emergence of mobile phones, people pull into the people and added a communication channel. First, the phone set convenient, fast, efficient in one, so that people easy to communicate.
