- Q: OMG! a phoba of crane flys, and there are 5 on my celling right now!!! What do I do, will the move and fly around eventually? I can't kill them, they are out of my reach, and if they start moving, im runing the %^$ outta my house.Will they die by tommorow? or will they just hang there?
- Yuk! I feel your pain - I hate crane flies, too. They are the only animals I don't like. I know they are harmless but they're just so damn creepy, with all those horrible long legs just waiting to dangle on your face! *shudder* My normal way of dealing with them is to smack them with a magazine or newspaper, but if they're on the ceiling I'd go with the person who said suck them up with the Hoover. If you can stand to have them in the house much longer, you could just wait for them to die - they only live 24 hours (in their adult form, that is - they will already have spent some time as larvae). In response to mj1112's answer, crane flies do not eat mosquitoes! As adults they usually do not feed at all, since they live only 24 hours - if they do, it will just be a sip of nectar.
- Q: I recently read that adult crane flies consume nectar or do not eat at all, their only purpose is to mate. After a crane fly mates, is starvation the cause of its death, or is there something else that ends its life such as age?
- Adult crane flies survive from all the fat they have, from their larval and pupal stage.When they run out of it, they eventually cannot find food, and by that time, they should die of age.It's probably both causes, if not because of predators,disease..etc

- Sorry, okorder /... The farther from the center of rotation of the House, the less a crane can lift. That same crane can only lift 57.5 tons at 22 meters from the center of rotation of the House. Ben

- Well, you know he lived in the late 1800s, so you probably have an idea of what his poetry will sound like. Then you read some of it, and the effect is sort of like walking into what you think is going to be a prissy hair salon and being whacked over the head with a bunch of bananas wielded by a glow-in-the-dark green monkey from Jupiter. Crane's stuff is that weird. And I mean that in a good way.
- Q: I am in dyer need of a camera jib wih very little budget and/or tools to build one. I am wondering if i can use a cymbal stand for a crash cymbal as a camera jib? My idea is to modufy it by attatching a small piece of wood to the top screw where you would put a cymbal the screw in an L piece (metal) to it or attach it ti the arm of the stand and just snigly fit it so as the arm is raised and lowered the L pice compensates and stays strait. i would attach the camcorder to the L piece with a 1/4 inch screw and washers. i also need the arm to move smoothly will this work with a crash stand. all advice i am grateful for thanks
- The angle of the cymbal on the stand determines the amount of vibration being transferred to the stand. A cymbal on a boom arm verses a straight stand, a heavy tripod verses a lightweight base sounds drastically different. Boom stands can make some cymbals rumble. When boom cymbals stands are somewhat close to staight stands, arm placed close to 180 degree, the cymbal will rumble less.

- Q: in the pit, i just lost my bike cuz johnny's crew tripped me with a chain. so no bike, and i only have my slingshot, skateboard, and some other useless stuff. dont say i can use my firecrackers or stik bombs cuz i dont have any in this pit. Also, my friend,... whatever his name is, he's there on top of the cars and junk and in the beginning he says something about a crane but i cant hear him. so everytime i pass under the crane... my conrtoller vibrates because the crane is supposed to pick up cars and such because its magnetic. so i already tried to see if when johnny goes under the crane it might pick him up because hes on a bike but it doesnt work. and i cant take him off of his bike and steal it either. i was thinking that would work because then whatshisface could pick me up with the crane.and when i try to hit him with my slingshot, it just doesnt work it would take me forever to knock him out with that puny little thing and he has a crowbar and he knocks me out so easily. - What you have to do is knock out all of Johnny's friends who are above you shooting things down at you. Use your sling shot to knock them out. It will take 2-3 shots for each guy. This will allow your friend to run around to the magnetic crane and start it up for you. Once Johnny goes under the crane, he will lose his bike. Then he'll be on foot, and will be a little easier to kill. Try to make sure you keep as much energy as you can while you're getting rid of Johnny's friends (run around alot so what they shoot at you won't hit you), because you'll need the energy to finish off Johnny. - Q: How do you calculate ground bearing pressure for cranes?
- You use statics. You get the specs for the crane and what it is lifting and determine from the site the pick angles and where the outriggers are going to be placed. Then you do the 3-D calcs to determine the reactions necessay and determine the soil's allowable bearing pressure, then design temporary footing based on that.
- Q: Vtwin doc helped me out with this dam thing recently Im thinking he has the 411! So here goes: My friends coil went bad and we used a single fire coil on a dual fire ignition. V twin doc showed me how to do that. But it still doesnt quite run proper. So here are the settings:Its set at 5900 R.P.M. limit,with advance slope at 9.the rear cylinder is set at 0.Its set on dual fire,its set on electric start.and its set on multi spark not single.Its a crane fireball hi 4e model 8-3100. It cranks for a bit before starting and runs a little rough at low R.P.M. ran just fine with the stock coil.
