- go to the hp/compaq website and download the drivers for the c700's card reader they're free, easy to find (labeled), and quick to download just run the application and it'll install for you your reader should work after this i also believe that the producer of the card reader is realtek, if you want to google other solutions

- If that Card reader was designed to be mounted inside the computer case (into a floppy bay, for example), then typically it will be designed to be plugged onto the motherboard via one of the USB headers on the board. You will know when you read the packaging, what it requires to work. Some readers come with firewire connections as well, so just be mindful of that.

- check if the memory card is properly fitting in the reader slot. you can use the removable disk as its like a floppy drive. just insert into the slot and follow the below said procedure. then browse to my computerremovable diskrespective folder where u stored the picscopy/ cut the pics from the foldercopy/paste to the desired location. thats it. you have your pic's

- 1) Disconnected Realtek SD Card Reader and reconnected it. I wanted Windows to automatically detect the hardware change. 2) Disabled and re-enabled the controllers. a) Opened Device Manager. b) Expanded IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. c) Un-installed each item one by one. d) Restarted the computer. 3) After the computer started, Windows reinstalled all the controllers that I've uninstalled. Then your Realtek SD Card Reader should be working.
