You did mention the style of card but if it's SDHC, as one of mine is, just make sure the card is fully inserted so the reader can see all the contacts.

- The write protect lock isn't on the reader, its on the memory itself. It's a small switch that you can toggle on or off. Not all sd memory cards have this switch, but I suspect yours does. Here is a link to picture, note the white switch on the left:

- you purchased a great digital camera. i used to have one. I definitely have a kodak card reader that has 3 slots , one for sd, and a pair of for the different styles of enjoying cards. it works with all computers that have a usb port. bypass forward and setting up your application nonetheless. you somewhat did purchase between the final cameras obtainable.

- Xbox 360 can't use those kind of memory cards even with the external reader. You need official Microsoft Xbox Brand memory cards. But you can share game saves using Memory Sticks with the Playstation 3.
