Q:how can i be sure of my remote wire?
Are you using the factory radio? If you are there isn't going to be a remote wire, if it has factory amps, it might. You should just use a switched source, the 12v+ switched for the radio would be fine. If it is aftermarket stereo it should be a blue/white stripe wire.
Q:orange wire from old stereo of Chevy suburban, what wire do i hook it up to on a custom stereo?
Or, do it the right way, and get a voltmeter, ensuring the vehicle wires are connected properly to the aftermarket stereo, based on ITS wiring diagram. I hope you are soldering and shrink wrapping your connections! Edit: Read the fricking manual for the radio! We can't tell you how the manufacturers designed the radio, especially since you haven't given a brand or model number! If you don't have the manual, download it from the internet! Did you even bother looking on the chassis of the radio to see if the wiring pinout is stamped there? The Chinese don't adhere to the same wiring norms we do, you can't assume anything, which is why I told you to use a voltmeter.
Q:Panasonic car radio wiring help?
I know waht you talking about for the wiring. my dual deck was the same way as far as the average wiring you were talking about..... that does sound weird. the other wires might just be for xtra hook ups that u dnt have. however dont take my word for that! what i would do is looking up the wiring diagram for the exact model that you have, look at the manual that came with it if there was one, or call a number for the wiring on the deck if there is one.
Q:how do u wire a lamp?
The hot wire terminal will have a brass colored terminal screw and the neutral wire terminal will have a silver colored screw. Be sure to connect the ground wire (if a terminal exists) to the terminal with a green screw.
Q:need to know about truck camper wiring?
green is common ground. red is usually rear lights, White and yellow are the turn signals Black is the bachk up lights. But it is not standard.
Q:What is a black/yellow wire?
A wire that is black or red (with or without any other colors) should be considered to be hot (carrying current). Why not just trip the circuit breaker or, at least, turn the switch to the off position before you mess with the wires? Make a diagram of how the wires were connected to the old garbage disposal, and connect them to the new one, the same way. There should be one white wire, on colored wire (not green or bare copper), and one green or plain copper wire. The green or plain copper wire is the ground. That connects to a (usually) green colored screw/bolt that is inside the wiring box on the disposal. The other two wires connect to the white and red/black wire.
Q:why do prices of electrical wire follow oil prices?
It follows the copper market. During high economic growth periods, copper (for wiring) oil for fuel are both simultaneously in high demand.
Q:what do wire colors mean (old house)?
These would be normally. You should have them checked before you connect something. Black is hot White Neutral Red wires are also used for hot wires, switch legs (like to a ceiling fan), and are the second hot wire in 220-volt installations. Another useful application is the interconnect wire between two hardwired smoke detectors. A ground would be green or bare.
Q:Why does wire resistance decrease with the thicker wire?
Basically a thick wire behaves as a lot of thin wires. Comparing one thin wire to a whole bunch, it is easy to see a difference. How this is explained in simple terms is that there are more paths for the electrons to take in a thicker wire, instead of them all being forced though the same space in the thin wire. You could compare it to cars on a motorway, the more lanes there are the more cars will be able to travel on it. A single lane would get blocked up if all cars in say four lanes tried to travel down it. Hope that explained things clearly!
