- Q: can a positive wire connect a negative and positive terminal together, or can a negative wire connect a positive and negative terminal together? This is regard to speakers in a guitar speaker cabinet. using rca speaker wire which is two wires that can be separated. One is positive and the other negative. If you are only using one half of the wire to wire two speakers in series does it matter if it is the positive(the side with the white stripe) or negative one since wiring in series is positive terminal to negative terminal.
- effective and detrimental keep on with to DC in elementary words, together with a battery or a skill grant. both of both might want to be grounded, or neither might want to be grounded. For AC, which varies between effective and detrimental voltages many circumstances per 2d, the words effective and detrimental are literally not used. instead, for an AC skill distribution device together with at your position of residing, you've a warm and impartial and a floor twine. The impartial is linked to floor at one element and is the go back for the warm, which has a voltage on it that varies between effective and detrimental voltages many circumstances per 2d. the floor twine is for safe practices. .
- Q: I am currently doing a guitar build and want to do the 21 tone jimmy page wiring style. I have a few questions. I can follow the diagram attached fairly well but am just confused on certain points. 1. for all the wires excluding the pickup wires, so the majority of the black wires, should those be hot wire or ground wire? I bought a wire back that has black ground wire and hot white wire and am confused on what to use when. 2. Specifically with the black wire coming from each pickup, once those go to a terminal on the pot the black wire that comes off of that joint is a connecting wire like in question 1, not a stretch of the pickup wire correct?3. When multiple wires come to a single solder joint should you tin the pot and then add one wire at a time to that spot or solder them all together and then to the pot?
- Hello there, 1) Excluding pickups, black wire hot or ground? They use black for both in that diagram. I believe the only ground wires are all marked as ground in the diagram. A ground wire will run from the case of a pot to somewhere. To the ground side of the jack. To the bridge. To another pot. As for what you bought, I have no idea what you are trying to say. There is no difference in the wire itself that is used for ground or hot. You can use any wire (except bare) for either of those. 2) The black wire from the bridge pickup goes to a terminal of the switch on the push/pull bridge volume pot. You may solder the wire and continue the same wire down to the terminal of the switch on the push/pull tone pot. Or you can use another wire to connect those switches. The black wire from the neck pickup go to the middle terminal of the neck volume pot. Again, you may continue the wire from the pickup or solder in another wire to connect to the switch on the push/pull neck tone pot. 3). When I run ground wires to the case of a pot. I used separate solder joints. I do not wrap the wires together and then solder them as a group onto the pot. I have tried that and got bad connection on some of the wires. Best to solder ground wires separately. On a switch terminal where you have two wires coming to the same terminal, I try to solder both wires at the same time to the terminal. 4). All connections are soldered. Also, you should be aware that not all pickups have the same colored wires. You need to check the color code for the brand of pickups you are using. Seymour Duncan makes his diagrams based on using his pickups. If you use some other brand, the color of the pickup wires may be different. Seymour Duncan has a pickup wire color code chart on his web site. Later, Norm
- Q: There is a circuit with a battery connected to two wires in parallel. Both wires are made of the same material and are of the same length, but the diameter of wire A is twice the diameter of wire B. Answer true or false for the following questionsThe curent through the battery is five times larger than the current through wire B.The power dissipated in wire A is 16 times the power dissipated in wire B.The voltage drop across wire B is larger than the voltage drop across wire A.The resistance of wire B is four times as large as the resistance of wire A.The resistance of wire B is twice as large as the resistance of wire A.
- the diameter of wire A is twice the diameter of wire B This means the cross-sectional area of A is 4 times that of B, which means the resistance of A is 1/4 that of B. To put some numbers on it, if B is 4 ohms, A is 1 ohm, total R is 0.8 ohms. Which means that if you have 1 amp of current flowing, you have 0.8 volts drop across the two wires, and 0.8 amps flowing through A and 0.2 amps flowing through B. Power in A is 0.8*0.8 = 0.64W, power in B is 0.8*0.2 = 0.16W, total power is 0.8*1 = 0.8 watts 1. true, see above 2. false, 4 times 3. false, they have the same voltage drop, they are in parallel 4. true 5. false, see #4 .
- Q: I need a diagram so i can correctly wire my new radio, subs, and amp. Thanks
- U don't need the diagram u can get a plug that plugs to the original wiring on u'r dash port, just ask for it by u'r cars year make and model u can find it at Walmart or whatever car sounds shop for around $10., get a wiring kit of 4 gage cable to power u'r amp around $35., 10 gage is too thin for any amp if u are using it for bass.
- Q: Just got a 540 wat sound system but the speaker wires are only 5 feet, so I want to add about another 10 or 15 feet.
- Just go down to Radio Shack or some other consumer electronics store or even a Home Depot, etc. and get a roll of bulk 14 gauge speaker cable. It's usually only about 25? per foot and you will have plenty of wire to work with for your entire system. I recommend against splicing speaker wire because not only does it hinder sound quality, but if you don't do it properly you could end up damaging your speakers and/or your receiver. - Q: I have just learned how to make some pretty cool bracelets out of telephone wire and i would like to know where to find more telephone wire. Could someone tell me where i might be able to find some?
- For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awUe1 You can find these all over the internet, but you'd end up having to pay for them... You are looking for donations of end-of-life cables to make the baskets, I recommend trying some of the electronics recycling organizations that are becoming more and more prevelent. Electronics put tons of bad chemicals in our environment when they are thrown away, so more and more efforts are coming up to find ways to recycle them rather than throw them in a landfill. Look up End Of Life Electronics for some of the efforts out there.
- Q: I would like to know how to wire my West Marine VHF Radio.Coming out the back of the radio is a red wire, a white wire, and two black wires. The white wire and one of the black wires are a thinner gauge then the other black and red wires. Any solutions out there? Thanks
- You could solder (best), or crimp connect a waterproof In Line fuse to the red wire, then connect it to a terminal Ring, and put over the red + battery post, then ground the black wire, by connecting a Terminal ring to it and put it over the NEG.- battery post. The In-Line fuse is circuit protection, OR you can by-pass this by conecting to a spare fuse on the Panel (red +), then ground the black wire to the Neg on the battery or neg - on the panel (fuse block). Direct connection to the battery is best, the other wires probably go to the Aux. Speaker which you will need as the speakers on the radio are too small to be heard over engine noise. Soldering works BEST, then coat with Liquid Lectric tape, or heat shrink tubing for a water resistant seal on the wires, and a good Marine connection. E-mail is open if further assistance is needed.
- Q: My house is currently wired using Cat-5 lines. If I were to replace the Cat-5 wiring with Cat-6 wiring, would I see an increase in my DSL speed?
- Short answer is no. The reason is Cat-X is category then a number, the number meaning twists per inch. The twists help keep out crosstalk and interference. Rarely an issue in most households and even reasonably sized businesses.
