Q: the drinking water to taste like plastic of vinyl? Or could it be the new inline filter that I placed behind the fridge? I ran 3 gallons of water after I fixed the broken water line (split in half near the bottom where it 180s) and change the filter. When you first drink the water, it tastes ok. After the glass sits for a while, it takes on a plastic taste. Could it be that 4 inch piece of clear plastis hose I used to splice the water line?
This will not taste like the plastic of vinyl.
Q: Are plastic tubes suitable for industrial automation?
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for industrial automation. They offer various advantages such as being lightweight, flexible, and resistant to chemicals, which makes them ideal for use in automated systems. Plastic tubes can be easily integrated into robotic arms, conveyor belts, and other automated machinery, providing efficient and reliable transport of fluids, gases, or other materials in industrial settings.
Q: I have a little bit of a project. I'm trying to figure a way to cool a pair of water filled tubing lines. I was thinking to wrap it with some type of cooling device but not quite sure what to use. Can you guys give me some ideas? I want to cool the lines as cool as refrigerator temps. Thanks.
You have not said how much heat you need to disperse - whether it needs to be a continuous process or not. You have not mentioned whether the lines are flexible or what length they are! However, without making things too complicated, if you use a longish length of plastic tubing, you could coil them and run them through a bucket full of an ice/salt/water mixture. Depending on how fast the water is moving through the tubes, if you had a strong mixture of salt and ice - with just enough water in the bucket to allow conduction - you might be able to freeze the water in the tubes - which is probably NOT what you want to do. So experiment before the performance.
Q: I was changing my engine oil via the dipstick tube and a special suction device that pumps the old oil out of the sump to be replaced with fresh oil. Unfortunately, i had to patch up a hole in the tube on the suction device with parcel tape/sellotape wrapped around and a small piece of tape (around 2x2 square) fell into the engine dipstick tube and appears to have slid down into the oil sump. Will the oil filter make any difference in keeping melted plastic out of the engine? Am i best calling up the manufacturer, not the dealer as i don't want them to know about my error. The engine still runs and i have driven 20 miles so far with no problems. 2009 year Citroen C1Thanks
This is worrisome. As the others say, the worst scenario is the tape gets against the pickup screen and suddenly causes loss of oil pressure. If that happens you will immediately get a low oil pressure warning light but that's something you don't want to happen anyway. However since the piece of tape is 2 x 2 or thereabouts at this point it is almost certainly still rolled up and stuck at the bottom of the dipstick tube. There would not be room for it to easily escape and fall into the sump… yet. There should be one or two screws at the bottom of the dipstick tube to secure it to the engine. If you remove those screws and pull the dipstick tube out, with the dipstick unit, you should find the tape at or near the bottom of the tube. Remove the tape, throw it away, put the tube back in, and sin no more.
Q: I added a bit too much Oil into the engine, so I decide that I would be able to suck the oil out with some tubing. However part of the plastic tubing fell off into the dipstick hole and it possibly in the oil pan now. I call some mechanic, and ended up having some say that it will damage the engine and some saying that it will not effect the engine. Can someone give me a more in-depth explanation. On how I can remove the plastic tubing? and How is will effect the engine? Should I even drive it?
Not good. The plastic could conceivably block the oil pump, causing a catastrophic loss of oil preeure. I'd recommend you drive it to your closest mechanic and have him drop the oil pan and remove it. It'll cost a lot of money, but not nearly as much as having the motor go away due to no oil.
Q: Can plastic pipes be adhered with PVC?
PVC glue is widely used, can relieve all kinds of difficult sticky transparent or white plastic products such as: polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), ABS, PMMA, nylon, sponge, foam film, etc.; for metallic and non metallic materials have good bonding strength, such as organic glass, bamboo, wood, rubber, metal, fabric, paper; especially for plastic and metal and non-metal materials are glued, cross bonding has more superior adhesion strength; is the household electrical appliance industry, radio industry commonly used adhesive.
Q: Can duct tape be used to fix flexible plastic tubing? We sprung a leak in the flexible plastic tubing last night and so I am hoping I can just use duct tape to fix the small crack in the flexible plastic tubing. Thanks,Jeff
Hi, If the water is going through the tube (pressurized) then you can't, if it's an a/c drain tub then you can.
Q: Hey y'all, I've seen a few people at my hospital with charms made from medication vials and IV tubing hanging on their stethoscopes... Does anyone know how to make these??PS: I'm well aware of infection control issues associated with dangling things... I'm looking to make keychains like these.
if you combine tahese sources, you mightlearn what you need. Plastic tube jewelry and some med charms?
Q: How are plastic tubes filled with adhesives or sealants?
Plastic tubes are typically filled with adhesives or sealants using a process called tube filling. This involves placing the empty tube in a filling machine, which is equipped with a nozzle or syringe-like device. The adhesive or sealant is then pumped or injected into the tube through this nozzle or syringe, ensuring that it fills up to the desired level. Once filled, the tube is sealed using a cap or crimped end, ready for use.
Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to impact strength?
Yes, plastic tubes are generally resistant to impact strength.
