Just because a plastic package is technically recyclable does not mean it will be recycled. There is a small 1/4 diameter or so plastic tube comming out of the floor to the left the battery/fuse box in the trunk, about 8 inches long or so. It has an L connector on the end, but it is not fastened to anything, nor can i find anything that it could fasten to. Any clues anyone? Vaccume tube for some component that was never installed?

yep it is for the battery, look for a hole in the side of the battery towards the top of it. if it is a genuine mercedes benz battery it will have the hole. some aftermarket batterys have it and others dont. it is ok to leave it disconnected it will not affect how the car functions
