Now a lot of people with rock wool ceiling, rock wool ceiling what is special?
Easy installation: excellent sound grams ceiling can be fast, easy to install in place. Due to the lighter weight, easy handling and transportation, the product will not produce dust when cutting and installing, so it will not affect the health of the installer. After installation, the ceiling surface can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or a wet cloth. When using this ceiling, you can also access the various facilities that are hidden behind the ceiling panel, such as HVAC equipment.
My neighbor told me that there is no attic space in the main bedroom. It is a 2 story house, but the master bedroom is the ONLY room that is significantly hotter than the other 2 rooms. Is it possible to put some sort of insulation over the existing ceiling and then drywall over it? Or....??????
Well, if you are willing to re-drywall anyway, why not tear down your existing ceiling and insulate it with fiberglass batts or blown cellulose? Then, you won't have two ceilings. When I moved into my house, I always hated how people just layered things like floors and just put the new over the old. Plus, I don't know how much ceiling space you have, but you would lose about 4 inches from redrywalling a second ceiling.
I have hanged the drywalls on both the ceiling and walls. My questions is how should I tape the joints between the ceiling and walls? Should I use a regular paper tape, a fiberglass mesh or a paper corner bead (inside corner)?
On a full sheet, the factory edge is dished down for taping. When to factory edges are stacked together, or nailed one along the other, use mesh tape, this is a freebie. Fill it up with a 5-6 knife and wipe off excess with 9 or 12 . On the long side of a full sheet this edge is not tapered and is called the butt end. Two sheets nailed together is the butt ends. This is optional. Mesh is easier, paper tape is better. Corners take paper tape. Spread a coat of mud with either a flat knife to both sides or use a inside corner trowell that does both sides. Crease tape into 90 angle. Lightly slide into corner, hold with left hand, and strech an place lightly with the other. Take your corner trowell and run over paper tape lightly spreading out mud, and tape. If there are any blister areas, you didn't get enough mud on the wall. Lightly lift tape and mush some more mud under the tape. Resmooth out the mess the best you can. On corner bead, nail evenly from center up and center down with opposing nails. Cover these with a coat of mud with a 6 knife and pretend like you know what you're doing and have a little fun.The drywall god's wisdom is this. After the first coat has completely dried(overnight) do not sand. Take you knife and knock off high chuncks and spread another coat. After it has dried completely, knife again and put on your last coat. You should be looking good by now. Then you can lightly sand. Don't bother with a sponge if you want a truely good job, because they follow the contour of what's there. Lightly sand and it should come out puss.
Worked putting ceiling tile in for a commercial building and on the other side of tile was yellow insulation.first time working with it didnt know any betterno gloves no mask short sleeve shirtgot it all over skin by lunch time eyes were watery itchy by the time work was over I was itching next day noticed two red sores on armjust ignored them few days later I had more places similar and itched like crazyhow do I get rid of insulation itch / rash??
Insulation has a nasty habit of doing this to people. Fiberglass insulation is the worst, as it literally cuts the skin and causes serious rashes and enough itchy feeling that people usually draw blood from scratching so much. Water, soap, and a good scrubbing to start would be good. Watch for pain when scrubbing the area to make sure there is nothing stuck in the area that you could potentially be driving deeper into the skin. Buy some anti-itch cream in the mean time. The rash should go away with time and proper hygiene.
If there is no gravity
If there is no gravity Gravitation is the year that Newton put forward, but also after the scientists have been using a physical phenomenon, many items are in the role of gravity can play a role, such as: cars, cups and so on. If one day, the gravity of the earth disappeared, the world instantly converted into a different from the previous world. Morning, opened his eyes, press the remote control, I went down to the ground, began to wash your face. Face down, the cleaning fluid squeezed in the face, and then hand rub a few, won the towel, rub it, began to work ................... .....
I am redoing my basement and am wondeirng what is the best way to insulate the basement ceiling, mainly to cut down on noise. My house is fairly old and the hardwood floors we have upstairs creak very loudly when you walk on them, and can be heard through the basement. Would fiberglass insulation work to cut down on footstep noise? If i put two layers in the ceiling would that be better? Or if I carpet upstairs would that muffle the sound?
USA I agree with travelingsupervisor. Get rid of the squeaks. But, if you are not going to fix the problem: Fiberglass and cellulose insulation do not really reduce noise. Mineral wool is helpful, but it must fill the cavity, with a 1/2 or 3/4 inch air space on both sides. Mass stops sound. After installing the mineral wool, install one layer of cement board and a layer of gypsum board over that. Stagger the joints. Or, fix the problem. Insulation by itself will not help.
I recently installed speakers in my ceiling for my entertainment center, they sound fine but you can hear them through the floor upstairs. does anyone know what i can do?
You can reduce some of the sound transmission by putting some absorbent material above the speaker (e.g. heavy weight fiberglass insulation), but if there is much bass the only really effective way to sound proofing is using something like green glue or RSIC clips to acoustically isolate the speaker from the floor above. See the links. You would need to construct a sealed (from above) drywall/gypsumboard box. See the two websites for further info. Note that the whole ceiling will be acting as a membrane and because it is coupled to the floor above don't expect miracles. The real solution is to retrofit the whole ceiling ... but I doubt you want to get into that!
Recently the company office to decorate the ceiling, how to choose the material?
Gypsum board, glass plate, calcium silicate board can be a lot of material, depends on how you choose it
