- Q: I've looked on the internet and I haven't found anything so far. The paper on it is due tomorrow...arrrggghhhhh...
- Hi, Briisthe! Just go into Google and type - what is the migration route of the whooping crane? Then click on the article - Journey North Whooping Crane Migration Then click on the maps and all will be revealed.
- Q: what type of hydraulic oil does a 2007 liebherr LTM 1160 5.1 crane take?
- You're telling me you've been entrusted the control of a crane capable of reaching 565 feet up an you don't know what hydraulic oil it takes?? Jesus Christ mighty... First off, it's in the owners manual, second off it's probably on the resivoir cap.... If you couldn't figure that out you shouldn't be allowed near the damn thing...
- Q: for my homework : the question was explain how a skyscraper crane uses physics moments but no where can i find out the answer and dont want a detention ekkk x
- OK... So what has your homework actually asked you to explain? Can you post the question...? There are moment forces going through a crane, is the aim of the homework simply for you to explain what a moment force is using a specific example ? A crane can be thought of in simple terms as a cantilever, ie one supported end and one free end, the lever arm force as it is sometimes referred to in schools is actually the moment force i.e. the moment for a crane with a boom L=40m long lifting a load of P=10kN would beP*L = 10*40 = 400 kNm, this is ignoring the self weight of the boom, if the boom weighed W=1.5kN/m (thats per meter, not to be confused with kNm which is kilo newton meters) then the moment generated by the self weight would be (WL^2)/2 = (1.5*40^2)/2 = 1200kNm so the total moment would be 1600kNm, so just remember for a point load the moment is force * distance from support ( in cantilevers) hope this helps... :)
- Q: I still cannot grasp how a crane was taken apart on a building with no roof
- They used a climbing crane , and who said that the building has no roof? the crane parts can be dismantled on site and removed either by helicopters or using the construction lifts
- Q: What is a TQ80 tower crane?
- A full swing jib crane with a tower type structure, a crane that can travel along the track and is equipped with a full swing arm.
- Q: I was wondering if Steam Cranes are still used to clear train derailments or are the all mothballed now? What do they use to clear derailments now days if the not the Steam Cranes? Also way are there 2 types of hooks on the crane anyway? Thanks
- They started to go by the wayside in the early 80's around here, though they were still in use until technology caught up and they could manufacture a 200 ton capacity crane for use on the highways. They had Hi-rail equipment and could get to the scene of a derailment much quicker than the old steam derricks. Near the end, I know there were at least 5 still operating, but the problem was, there were only two guys on the system that could run one of the things. Steam is the key word. We're all used to seeing crane operators running the machine from their little cab and moving the levers that control the hydraulics. But, it was amazing to see a guy run one of the Bucyrus Erie 200 ton derricks. All the functions were controlled by various valves that were scattered around the operators position, and it was like watching some kind of choreography; ballet, even. The sights, smells and sounds of the thing in action were no less eye catching than watching the operator himself.
- Q: this wind speed refers to that height of wind speed?
- Surface wind speed is greater than 6
- Q: how to make a magnetic crane on cheap price?
- The whole crane or just the lifting device? Not easy to be cheap in either case - the crane because of safety concerns and the lifting head because it requires a lot of now high priced copper wire, well insulated, and a hefty electrical source with long cables to get the power to the head. Best (probably) to buy used if you want to save money.
- Q: Emergency treatment of interrupted electricity during lifting of tower crane
- The rotating gear shall be immediately inserted into the screw or wood, while the power supply shall be checked rapidly to remove the trouble.
- Q: In Stephen Crane's novel The Red Badge of Courage, why is the war itself not even named?
- There are references in the book to events during the Civil War. In addition, the time of publication by this American author left no doubt in any American's mind which war it referred to. The Spanish American war happened after publication and the primary war on everyone's minds was still the Civil War.
