Perhaps you think that is how it should be? So be it. But let's not continue the fairy tale that rich cigar smoking white dudes gather in shrouded rooms to control the govt. If such a fairy tale were true, the spending would reflect it. The taxation would be regressive, not one of the most steeply progressive in the world.

the bbb can help but you will have way beter luck dealing with high management bcause the bbb has to run an invesigation on such maters if talking to UM doesn't work then go to the bbb!

I am sorry for your loss. However the bank will not let you withdraw any funds after the death certificate has been issued. If your mothers death has not been certified and you do not have the certificate go to the bank and try to withdraw as much as possible. If the certificate has been issued you are out of luck as the POA expired with her death and you will need to go to the bank with a certified copy of her death certificate, the POA papers and hope they will issue the funds to you at that point. Otherwise you are stuck waiting until probate goes through which can take forever.

Since this is much less than minimum wage, ask for a raise, get a better job, or a second job. If you don't qualify for a better job, go to your local community college and talk with a counselor about courses you can take to qualify for a job that suits you. Be glad you are living at home, because if you were my 29 year old son still trying for cheap rent, food, and laundry I would ask you to leave.

It all depends on what type of Power of Attorney you have. There durable and non-durable. He is correct when he says there is no expiration date, but like one other person who answered your question, I would be hesitant if it was five years old. If he is incarcerated he can get another P of A free of charge by requesting it with inmate services. Perhaps you might suggest that to him and that would solve the problem of it not being accepted at some places. Another option would be to record it with the county and use a certified copy. That might help.
