Q:umm my gf does it all the time and idk if your suppose to: is it a vac designed to pick up liquids? if not, electric shock is a greater worry than the darn filter! or are you saying she washes the filters, and they're designed for that type of maintenance, then it would be o.k. as long as they're completely dry before they go back into the vac Filters that get wet are the perfect habitat for mold growth, so every time you vaccuum you'd be blowing mold spores all over the place--it's gonna stink, at the least! Look up the vac model and get the owner's manual form the manufacturer's web site to see what you should be doing with these filters.

Q:Is there a vacuum out there it is a certified air purifier? I recently learned that vacuums blow out dust, even ones with expensive hepa filters leak some form of bacteria into the air.I'm looking for facts only, not opinions. Sources preferred.: When you only run the vacuum for 30 mins a week it doesn't make too much of a difference if you want cleaner air you must purchase an air purifier. IQair is said to be a very good brand though spendy.

Q:Here is the question:Inside all vacuum cleaners is a high speed fan. Explain how this fan causes dirt to be picked up by the vaccum cleaner.I am a tutor but dont understnad this so just give em the answers and ill choose your answer, for the kids.: the fan causes the vacuum cleaner to suck-in the air. as the moving air passes by the dirt particles, it's the INTERACTION of the moving air and the dirt that causes the dirt to be drawn along with the air. basically, the air molecules bash into the dirt particle and impart energy (momentum) to the dirt, and this is what makes it move. if there was no air motion over the dirt, then the dirt particles would not respond to the vacuum cleaner.

Q:I have a two piece standard Kenmore vacuum (not an upright vacuum but one of those that the hose attaches to the body). Anyways, I was vacuuming and then all of a sudden the roller quit spinning. I thought maybe some string or some other obstruction was preventing the roller from spinning or perhaps the belt broke. But I took everything apart and found out the motor doesn't spin. I can't even spin it manually. If I remember right shouldn't the motor be able to spin freely? My motor is stuck and won't spin and I can't find any obstruction preventing it from spinning.Any thoughts?And secondly, can you clarify if the motor should spin freely when the vacuum is turned off because I could have sworn that in the past if anything got wrapped around the roller (like string) I could easily unwind it.: That motor burned. Need a new one. Good luck...!
