- glazed tiles are fine to use in the bathroom, the important thing to remember is if they are set properly and to set on either mortar base or hardiboard. the main concern though, would be whether the surface is too smooth a finish when used on the floor, especially when the tiles are wet! this could become a hazard to your health! a lot of tiles used in a floor application, have a sanded or rough finish ,just because of that !

- U can tile over counter top, have u decide how to tile around the wash bowl area. If that is not a problem.this is what u to do. - Accidentally staining or on purpose staining it is very hard to get anything to stick to ceramic tiles. Any paint even epoxy will wear off and look shabby very quickly. One way to distract people from the plain white is to take out tiles in a pattern and replace them with some colorful tiles that will draw people's attention from the main color. You can take out those tiles by using a hand grout saw to take off the grout surrounding the tiles you want to remove. Then smash those tiles in the center with a pointed centerpunch and a small hammer. Work your way out toward the edges of the smashed tile until you have cleared their entire square. That is where you are going to cement-in and grout the new colorful ones. It is time consuming but it will upgrade the floor and make people forget the basic off-white.

- Your tile should stay shiny for a long time....as long as it was sealed after it was installed. You may want to ask the installer if they sealed it. If they did not, perhaps you have a claim against them. I am sure your local home improvement store has a sealer and a chemical for getting your shine back. Take a sample of your tile when you go in so they can give you a better professional recommendation. Also, take the tile to a tile/flooring store as they specialize in that.

- Forget the rental business, you'll pay for one day as much as you can buy one for your use. Go to Home Depot, they start at $88.00 for a cheapo that works just fine for a powered tile cutter. I have had one for several years now I paid $120.00 for it, two days rental, and it's done more then several bathrooms and floors, still going strong.
- Q:I have plain jane 4 white ceramic tile and it does not go with my new room colors for my bath....can this be painted?
- I okorder /... and it makes sense to use oil based paint (especially in the bathroom), and then seal it with urethane, you do have to let the paint dry for 2-3 days before sealing, which may be a hassle if you can't walk on it. Also, the article didn't mention anything about using primer, you might want to inquire about that.

- I will have to assume you are talking about vinyl tile?? I can't imagine laying carpet over ceramic tiles!!! If your old carpet was wall-to-wall, all you need to do is untangle the old carpet from the needle-like protrusions located next to each wall. You can then lay new wall-to-wall carpet over the old tiles and connect it to the protrusions just like the old carpet was. If you are opting for an area rug, you will need to remove the old tacked-down carpet holders around the perimeter and repair or replace the vinyl tiles that now have holes in them.
