- Q: My washer is 20 volts 60 gz,9.6 amps. The solar panels I am looking at are: Sharp ND-208U Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,479.99 Only $,049.99 Sharp Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,352.99 Only $,040.99 If I buy that will it be enough to run my washer?
- Don't you think it kinda depends on the panels? It's not like they're all one size. The A/C units are going to take significant power when in use as will an electric clothes dryer which you failed to mention. And we also have no earthly idea where you live in order to know how many hours of sun you'll be able to rely upon or how frequently you'll need to cool or what the square footage is you're cooling. Are you intending to live completly off grid? If so you'll want to be concerned with battery (which is cost prohibitive) or some other sort of back up for times when the sun isn't out.
- Q: Are there any restrictions or regulations regarding solar panel installations?
- Yes, there are restrictions and regulations regarding solar panel installations. These can vary depending on the location and jurisdiction. Common regulations include obtaining permits, adhering to building codes and zoning requirements, maintaining a certain distance from property lines, and complying with electrical and safety standards. It is important to consult with local authorities and professionals to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations before installing solar panels.
- Q: I've seen a couple homes around my town that have solar power and I live in the Desert, where the sun is shinning and it gets really hot during the summer. We run our air conditioner a lot making our electricity bill high.So I just wanted to know if anyone has or knows anyone that has solar panels? are they worth getting and is it the same as having electricity?
- Our neighbor has solar paneling, and he absolutely LOVES it! It is pretty much the same as having electricity, just better for the environment, and your electricity bill goes down to only about $7 a month!
- Q: How do solar panels affect the aesthetics of a building?
- Solar panels can have both positive and negative effects on the aesthetics of a building. On one hand, they can enhance the visual appeal by adding a futuristic and environmentally friendly look. The sleek design of modern solar panels can be seen as an architectural statement, especially when integrated seamlessly into the building's design. On the other hand, some people may find the appearance of solar panels unattractive or incongruent with the building's overall design. However, advancements in solar technology are continually improving the aesthetics of panels, making them more appealing to a wider range of individuals. Ultimately, the impact on the aesthetics of a building depends on personal preferences and the specific design and placement of the solar panels.
- Q: can this amount of solar charge these batteries.
- Well you are stating the solar panel powers but no mention of their voltage??. Yes, they should do the job. I suspect the lack of blocking diodes may be your problem, assuming you have done the homework. You have 6 battery cells at 2 volts each, that is ...err..2 volts, assuming you have them connected in series. Count the number of cells on the solar panels and maybe we have a starting point. One solar cell is 0.6 v, in this case you would need a minimum of around 30 cells (physically it will probably be 32 to make it 'square'), you need a fair bit of over- sizing in that direction. Solar panels are resistive when not illuminated so must have a blocking diode included to prevent the batteries from discharging into the solar panels at night. Check that each array has a blocking diode included, if not add them. Solar power is pretty useless unless you have loads of sunshine. You seem to have gone through a bit of trouble and expense on this one, so give me some basic facts and I will help you through it. Update 7 Dec If the batteries take 20 hours to fully charge and there are 0 hours of sun each day then the batteries will be fully charged in 2 days. The question was, can the battery be charged, answer is yes, it can. There is no mention of load. If the batteries are not charging there is something wrong.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on senior living facilities?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on senior living facilities. In fact, many senior living facilities have started incorporating solar panels to reduce energy costs, promote sustainability, and provide clean energy solutions. Installing solar panels can help these facilities become more energy-efficient and reduce their carbon footprint. Additionally, solar energy can contribute to a more comfortable and sustainable living environment for senior residents.
- Q: first of all, to be honest i have totally no idea on how a solar panel works.my task is to design something like a solar powered street lamp which store sun energy during day time and convert it into electrical energy then light energy so that the lamp can work during night time.any ideas on how to design the solar panel? which can store enough or more enegry in case there is no sunlight another day. and low cost as well :D
- image voltaic panels do no longer shop capability, they basically generate it. in case you opt to shop capability you like a battery economic enterprise of a few sort to get you for the time of the night and each time the sunlight isn't shining. in case you have somewhat extra in the fee selection you would be able to desire to look at a geothermal equipment to your place's heating and cooling needs. they are distinctly useful structures and you'd be able to supplement notwithstanding you like. notwithstanding you do, in spite of the indisputable fact that i'm hoping you have a sturdy construction envelope in place already. image voltaic panels are cool, yet once you have a leaky homestead, you're nevertheless no longer getting the final out of your panels. Do the extra mundane stuff first. Insulation, homestead windows, and climate-tight doorways.
- Q: I'm going to this camp and the instructors asked us to be prepared tomorrow to build a sun tracker for a solar panel. Does any one have any ideas, tips, or advice?
- tbls0 has a good idea for the tracker, but let's take this one step farther. A clock motor large enough to move a solar panel, unless it is a very small one is going to be large, and expensive. Use the timer motor, as suggested, but attach a slotted disk to it, with a light source on one side, and a detector on the other side. As each slot comes up and allows light to pass through, this creates a one shot pulse which is used to cause a stepper motor to move position to keep the panel aimed at the sun. At the end of the panel travel for the end of the day, a switch could be set to close, bypassing the step control to put the motor into full constant speed reverse, this causing the panel to swing back to the morning position. The whole affair gets it's start up call by means of a light detector, similar to those used to turn lights off at sun up. The control would, of course be set to turn the system on to track the sun during the day. While some digital control is going to be needed, the system would not need a computer to run it.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of shade or obstruction?
- Solar panels can still be used in areas with high levels of shade or obstruction, but their efficiency and performance may be significantly reduced. Shade or obstructions like tall buildings, trees, or nearby structures can block sunlight, preventing the panels from receiving the necessary amount of light to generate optimal electricity. However, there are advanced technologies and design techniques available that can mitigate the impact of shading, such as using micro-inverters, optimizers, or tilting and positioning the panels to maximize sunlight exposure. Overall, while solar panels can still function in shaded areas, it is crucial to assess the level of shading and its potential impact on energy production before installation.
