Q:Anyone know if there is a solar panel that you can travel with that is not USB plug in ?
Solar panels require a charge converter before it can be used by an AC source. There is no direct solar panel with built in charge converters that I know of because, when purchasing panels, you must purchase the wattage requirements of the job (this can be several panels linked), and a charge converter that will handle the <? panels required. A chain of stores up here in Canada have a portable battery pack that has a solar panel to increase its charge capacity or duration, but its not something you would want to lug around for long periods of time, because is weights in about 3 lbs.
Q:Should the value of solar panels be included when appraising a home?
Normally solar panels are listed as part of the house that supply heat, like a water heater or furnish. Your house would be appraised the same without the solar panel. Since the house you are references sold 4 months ago this might not be a comp your appraiser would have used. Normally a house would have to be sold within the past 90 days to be used by an appraiser. You are able to challenge the appraisal of the house you paid for. Q:Mono-crystalline or poly-crystalline solar panel?
All solar photovoltaics drop in efficiencies with higher temperatures but it isn't the 45+ C you have to worry about but rather the heat from the sunlight striking the panels. Q:how do solar photovoltaic panels work?
Hey E Girl, photovoltiac panels are pretty simple. They start with a solid block of silicone, and shave thin layers off of them, called wafers. Once you have about 72 of them, you take half of them and dope them with boron, then the other half are doped with phosphorous. Once that's done, they take one each phosphorous and boron wafer, and glue them together with a special conductive epoxy glue, and attach a wire to each wafer. When the two glued wafers are exposed to the sun, a reaction occurs that forces free electrons from the silicone particles from one wafer onto the other, and a voltage is generated between them, about /2 volt to be exact. Once all 36 pairs are glued together, they are wired in series, connecting the phosphourous wafer from one to the boron wafer on the next, and so on. If you start with 72 wafers, you'll have 36 pairs glued together when you are done. At /2 volt each, that makes a 8 volt panel, which is used to charge a 2 volt battery. The charging source always has to have a few more volts than the battery. These 36 pairs of cells are then arranged on some kind of back board, glued down, covered with acrylic glass and mounted in a frame. Q:What type of wires should i use for a solar panel?
You might want to be careful about soldering. Some panels can be easily damaged by excess heat. Check the manufactures website for recommended attachment methods. Solder tape or conductive epoxy might be better. If you do not have such things already, a good idea might be to take it into a TV repair shop or electronic hobbyist store. Some folks are kind enough to do it for you for free.

They're really expensive. If you want it for practical use like a house or car powering system. They're bigger than like a battery if you're comparing size to power. Like a car battery can produce more energy than a 6 x 4 panel (just an example)
