Q:How Do solar panels work?
Short version is that the sunlight knocks electrons loose from a semiconductor panel, and those loose electrons generate an electrical current. The solar panels have lots of cells arranged in series parallel to get to a higher voltage (usually 2 or 24 volts) and current. This is sent to charge batteries under the control of a charge controller. The voltage from the batteries is sent to an inverter that converts the 2/24 volts to 20/240 VAC for household usage. .

Q:Can you make a solar panel shift sideways?
having solar panels move like that on a mobile platform is inadvisable -- especially if there is a dynamic wind load resulting from the motion of the mobile platform. Even having a tilt mechanism is dubious at best. think of what limited marginal gain would be gained by mounting a small solar panel on the moon roof of a car. (ultimately, the best answer is to turn the car so that it's angle to the sun is optimal -- but the road/travel direction constraints are what ultimately prohibit that.) while there are ways to build sliding panels, the weight constraints would interfere with your weight/thrust ratios to the point of futility. if you really need that panel somewhere else, don't slide it out of the way, just buy another panel and mount it there. it's more expensive, but it's actually the cheapest solution in terms of design on a mobile platform.
Q:How do you get electricity in a rainy day if you have solar panels?
Being totally honest, the way that most houses connect solar today is alongside their normal power from the power company. If the panels produce more than the house can use, the power company buys the excess electricity. At night, or any time the house needs to draw more than the panels are putting out (including rainy days), power is simply bought from the power company the old way. Between the buying and selling, a house's electric bill for the year could be low, zero, or even negative. The other alternative, useful where there is no power company, is to have batteries. These batteries are very similar to car batteries. During sunny days, the batteries are charged, and when there isn't sun, power is drawn from the batteries. This is inefficient and expensive compared to just using the power company, so people generally only do it if they have to.

I run my entire home off of solar . I'm really handy when it comes to building things from junk and buy broken cells off OKorder . I glue and solder them to make 2x2 cells so my panels are 6x6 foot each normal size is allot smaller and getting plenty of power dirt cheap but the gov doesn't give me crap and i really don't give a crap because what i have into mine payed for them self in a years time of paying the power company . Now if i was to buy the system i built there's no way it would be worth the wile . The only way the government is interested is if they can tax you that's not just conservation that's everything. I do get a kick out of the rich blood sucking power company when all the lights go out in the neighborhood and there knocking on my door trying to figure out why my house is lit up like a Christmas tree
Q:solar panel help needed ?
You need to know how many solar cells are in the panel and what is the rated current each cell will produce. This information should be listed on the panel. Each cell will produce from 0.5 to 0.55 volts DC per cell and each cell will produce a current that is dependent on the size of the cell and the type of material the cell is made from. If the cells are connected in series then the voltage of each cell will add together, that is if you have 30 cells connected in series they should generate about 5 to 6.5 volts DC. If each cell generates .2 amps, then you multiply the voltage of 5 volts DC times .2 amps DC equals 8 watts of power. The current of each cell does not add together when you connect the cells in series only the voltage of each cell. If you connect the 30 cells in parallel then the current of each cell adds together but the voltage of each cell does not. That is 0.5 Volts DC times 36 amps equals 8 watts. Q:South facing solar panels?
You want the panels facing south because that is where they would get the most sunlight throughout the day. If your front door is facing north, then the back of your house would be facing south, right? So put them up in the back where they are facing south...haha wtf..
Q:i have three 30 watt solar panel and 6 battery cells of 2 volts 550AH. but my batteries are never fully charg?
The solar panels are sufficient to charge the batteries. Your location is important as it relates to home many kWh/m2/day solar energy you receive. Check your actual solar power output using a current and volt meter, confirm you use at least a 3 stage battery charger. The total charged voltage should be about 2.7 volts. Check each cells voltage to see if one has failed.
Q:How much candle lights is required to operate a 205 watt solar panel?
That's hard to tell. A solar panel produces somewhere between 7 and 0W per square foot under sunlight exposure. You should calculate the light intensity of sunlight, and then calculate the light intensity of a candle (You'll have to look that up in some physics book or the internet) and then just multiply the number of candles until you match the intensity of sunlight. Realistically, you would need so many candles that you wouldn't be able to fit them in front of the solar panels, assuming you don't end up with a huge fireball.
