Application of Our Polished Porcelain Tile:

 Application of polished tile

Q:I need to tile a kitchen back splash from counter to cabinets. Backerboard at the moment is drywall, textured and painted. I‘d like to hear some opinions on tiling directly over this or using cement backer board. Also thinset or mastic?
You can tile directly over the splash area the way it is. You should use a good quality multi-purpose thinset with most products. You can probably get away with mastic if you use light-weight wall tile, but you get a better installation using multi-purpose thinset with the majority of products out there today (stone, glass, metal, porcelain, large-bodied tiles, etc.). Be sure to caulk where the tile meets the countertops and where it meets wood.
Q:it is literally burning hot have no idaea wat the problem is plzz help:). porcelain tile btw
is the basement below this bathroom?if so it could be the heat from a pot light. you would not believe the heat one throws off
Q:Tiles are divided into several categories, respectively, which are?
According to the process points, can be divided into quintana brick, polished tiles, tiles, ceramic tiles, antique tiles, glazed tiles, in which tiles and polished tiles are all bricks. Polished tiles are divided into seepage tiles, powder, polycrystalline powder; polished tiles and Asian throw; According to the use of points, can be divided into inside and outside the wall tiles, indoor and outdoor tiles, square brick, supermarket bricks, pool tiles, etc. There are many kinds of tiles, the key is to see from which angle to points.
Q:Ok the room is 12X16 thats 192 square foot right? well each box of tile is 30 square foot how many boxes would i need
I would figure about 15% waste/breakage/discoloration. So my math would go 12*16=192+15%=220sqft/30=7.33boxes It really depends on the layout of the room and if your going to have a lot of cuts, to either center your layout on a door etc. Buy eight boxes, so you don't get almost done and come up short and have to run back to the store and get more. If you have an un-broken box you should be able to return it.
Q:I have a few small pits (about 1/16 in diameter, very shallow into the tile) that have developed in some old ceramic tile in my foyer (it may be from some salt that was tracked into the foyer over the winter). Is there a good way to repair it?
I would try 'tile and grout sealer. These products are easy to apply and once dried are very hard. Go to your home supply store and look at a few different types and see what would work best for you application. Most people don't understand that tile needs to be sealed and re-sealed every year or two, especially in high traffic areas and where there will be a lot of dirt or water track across them.
Q:Does anyone know how to refinish or paint ceramic tile? Or a website showing me how? Please help! =)
Toffy's okorder /... Basically, you'll need to get the tile very clean, paint in several coats and then seal it with a good urethane. You need to be cautious about floors that will consistently get wet which would cause you problems with the paint and urethane. Also, if you paint and seal your floor I would treat it more like a wood floor as far as cleaning is concerned since you're now just going to be cleaning a urethane surface. Lastly, can I offer some free advice? Once you start painting that floor there is no turning back. It would be almost impossible to remove the paint if you don't like the way it looks and you would probably just have to rip the flooor out or put another flooring over the top of it as Toffy mentioned. If I was thinking about doing this, I would get some similar tiles to what you have and just lay them on a piece of plywood in the garage and do a quick grout job. It doesn't have to be perfect. I would do some testing with paint and urethane to see how it looks and how well it will hold up to wear.
Q:hello! if i have a connected dining room/kitchen and the kitchen has ceramic tile (that is old) and the dining room has carpet, can i just rip up the carpet and install vinyl tile over the ceramic then over the sub-floor without any issues?
The most important thing is the floor must be solid, no soft spots or flexing! Typically the old tile must come up first, I wouldn't recommend installing tile over tile, and I set a lot of tile as I am a general contractor and remod kitchens and baths for a living. What I would recommend is... Call a place that sells tile, they will tell you exactly what you need to do and how to do it!
Q:A roofer tosses a piece of roofing tile froma aroof onto the gound 30 feet below. He tosses the tile with an initial downward velocity of 10 feet per second. 1. Make an equation to find hoe long it takes the tile to hit the ground. Use, H=-16t^2+vt+h, where h is the height after t seconds, v is the inital velocity, and h is initail height.2. How long does it take to hit the ground? -------gt; PLEASE HELP ME WITH NUMBER 1.....I REALLY DON‘T GET IT! :)

H=-16t^2+vt+h 0 = -16t? + 10t + 30 ============================= 16t? - 10t - 30 = 0 ? Ans ============================= 2. How long does it take to hit the ground? Quadratic formula: at? + bt + c t = [-b±√b? -4ac}/2a t = [-(-10)±√(-10)? - 4(16)(-30)]/2(16) t = [10 ±√100 + 1920]/2 t = [10 ± 44.94]/2 ======================== t = 27.47 sec ? Ans ======================== hope this helps Remember that Jesus loves you. Know Him in His words the Bible. God Bless Lim?E
Q:I am thinking of doing a school based apprenticeship in tiling how much money will I get? and how long is the apprenticeship last for my m said around 4 years?
First of all I applaud your thinking of doing an apprenticeship. A tiler once told me that all you need to know about tiling is 'one on top of another, shiny side out' ! If in UK check out your local F.E. College which usually run a full range of courses in the various building trades. If you want an apprenticeship rather than a stand alone course, why not contact a reputable local builder who may take you on and train you on the job together with a college course. Good luck.
Q:I have a large number of tiles on the walls of the laboratory nowadays, and the whole piece of fall, years ago is normal, do not know how the matter, please answer expert!
There are two possibilities: One, paving time and space drums, two, paving no seam or stay too small, hot up caused by cold
Through constant innovation and practice,it has developed into a professional ceramic wall and floor tiles enterprise.
