- Q: On those tiles, can you skate on them with ice skates. I was thinking about getting them but I wasn‘t sure. Last but not least, is there a different kind of tiles that are cheaper. Thanks!
- I think I understand your question, the tiles you can't skate on unless you have roller hockey skates, it's called sport court. I play roller hockey and ice and the tiles for roller SUCK! If I were you I'd just go fin a certain kind of paint I can't recall the name of the brand, but paint the garrage floor with it and you can skate in there and stick handle if you have enough room. - Q: i have a tile back splash that runs all along my counter including behind my sink and behind my stove. it is a small 1 tile, and i‘m pretty sure it‘s original to the house (40‘s) so it‘s getting kinda grimy. no matter what i do to clean it, it‘s so tough, because of kitchen grease and splatter. the grout isn‘t sealed so it absorbs stains. i keep seeing people say sprinkle baking soda on tile, let it sit, and then clean with vinegar, which would be great if this was a floor, but its a wall, so if there are any solutions, that would be great. natural preferred. i really don‘t want to replace this. painting it is an option, so suggestions on paint for tile would be appreciated as well.
- magic erasers are great for this sort of thing. if it's ceramic tile they sell this stuff that works really good call tile guard. use apply a thin coat to the entire area (grout included) let it dry and wipe off with a damp sponge. this also is a good way to clean your grout. regardless if it's on the floor or being used as a backsplash.....I wouldn't suggest painting ceramic tile if doesn't work and the paint won't stick.

- Hi, In a survey of real estate agents they said that homes with hardwood sold for more and faster. I think it is a matter of personal preference as to what you use. I think any tasteful quality product helps the resale of your home. I personally have hardwood in my kitchen and love it. I also have tile in my bathrooms and entryway and love tile there.The tile stands up to all the water in a bathroom and all the dirt in the mudroom that gets dragged in. The tile in the entryway comes right up to to tile in the kitchen and looks great. I personally do not want tile in my kitchen as it is not very forgiving when something is dropped. I spend a lot of time on my feet in the kitchen and find tile to be a hard surface on your back and legs. Both have a long life but hardwood is more susceptible to damage. It can be sanded and refinished but it is costly. Hardwood you do need to wipe up spills right away and should have an area rug by your sink especially if you have kids that do dishes like mine water all over. I have had my hardwood for over 12 years and it still looks great. Hope this helps.

- First you need to get the square of the room by multiplying the lenght and the width...6.25m x's 4.85m Then convert that into cm. Next do the same thing on your tile and divid that with your floor and that will give you the # of tiles....I may be wrong here but here we go.... 6.25 * 4.85 = 30.3125 *100 = 3031.25 sq cm ROOM 20 * 6 = 180 sq cm TILE 3031.25 / 180 = 17 tiles I am sure that this is off I would suggest if a room is 12 x 18 ft giving 216 sq ft and a box of tile at a 1.5 x 1.5 at 9 tiles each box at 20 sq ft would be about 11 boxes Another soulution is to goto the hardware store and ask the tile pro to tell you how many you need and give him the measurements lol

- Spanish tiles such as satillo etcetra is like an adobe, made of clay, very durable and strong, nice looking...It is also prefered for diy'selfers that want to save money and install thier own...Spanish tile usually have slighty irregular edges, not perfectly straight, and on purpose..they do not have to be perfectly straight when laid due to these irregular edges..but keep as straight as possible, but becuase of the irregularities, the eyeball cannot see the ones not perfectly straight..They are a very pourous tile, so use a good sealer after instilation...You can buy these tiles straight edged too, but these would be for the professional to install if you have no knowledge of them..
- Q: Hello! I currently have a 3 season sunroom addition on the back of my home that has been stripped down to the wood. I recently saw a 4 season sunroom that had tile down and needless to say, I fell in love with it! I am thinking about putting tile down in there but am worried about the weather...I live in Minnesota where it gets very cold...and that room is not heated in the winter. - Tile can be laid outside, so temperature is not the issue. The type of tile you use will determine if it stays down or not. I would look into a porcelain tile which is double fired and extremely hard, or a frost-proof tile which is used around swimming pools.

I‘d like to either remove the adhesive or make that area of the floor level in order to place some stick tile.What is the best solution for this? Do I need a sealant? - Heat sections with a propane torch and remove with a scraper or putty knife. After removal, buy some floor leveller and use as directed. No sealant required. Your new floor and the adhesive you choose will seal just fine.

- Always wipe off excess water after you bathe or shower. You can use a wash cloth and wipe off the water from the tiles. Buy a spray bottle and fill 90% water, 10% vinegar. Spray all the tiles in the shower/bath area with the water/vinegar once a week and let dry. The vinegar will not harm the grout or tiles and will eliminate mildew from growing. Bleach would be good for cleaning the tub but its not environmentally friendly. Try water/vinegar and steel wool to get the stains out. Then once a week water/vinegar and wipe clean.
