FAQ
1. For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?
—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.
2. What is the MOQ for this tile?
—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.
3. Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?
—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.
- Q: Hi, I was wondering if the house appraisal for a house with all hardwood floor was higher than it is if the house has all tile. Thanks!
- REAL harwood floors (meaning the flooring is 100% hardwood and not a laminate of any kind) usually appraise SLIGHTLY higher. This means the floors are in great shape with no re-finishing needed.etc needed. It also means they are flat (not warped) or dinged and stain free. As with tile wood floors come in all price ranges. Laminates (like babmboo or pergo) won't be valued as highly as 100% hardwood planks. Tile floors are 'iffy'. Just like harwood there are all different grades of tile. Cheap tiles -ceramic,terra cotta- do not appraise as highly as porcelain, stone or marble flooring. But even with the best of the best of either the appraisal value would change only a few 100 dollars between the best quality and the worst quailty of either.Hope this was helpful
- Q: I am looking to tile my livingroom/kitchen area appx 500sf. I am going with porcelain due to the strength ( i was told its better). My question is for resal (4-5 years) what is a better tile to lay; polished tile or regular glaze. I like the shiny clear coat look the polished has but someone mentioned it picks up footprints and it is not good for resale. Also, I was thinking that If I went with a larger tile, 18X18 or larger that it would look much cleaner with less grout lines, but since its only an area of 500sf that it would make my place look smaller than it is?any suggestions are helpful. Thanks
- You don t necessarily need to go with a porcelain. They are vastly over sold. They can be a great tile but not always stronger. So you know, these are not polished, its just the glaze thats put on them. Only stones such as granites and marbles are polished. Two things you have to consider of they brighter glazed tiles ( porcelains or ceramic) You have to think about the slip resistance on the shinier tiles. They are rated 0-4 for the residential settings You only want a 3or 4 rated tile or classified tile.the othe consideration is that the shiny tiles will show day to day dirt and water spots easier. Where your matte or satin type finishes show a minimal amounts. The larger tiles do a nice job as far as less grout but care must be taken when installing because these larger tiles can be slightly different sizing and I ve seen slightly warped tile when they get this big. They can be harder to set with a smaller joint, so make sure the installer has some background. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
- Q: Tile TV wall is good
- Personally feel that is not possible, like my home shop posted Delan rhyme ceramic background wall can still, according to their own requirements to do, like the pattern of these are their favorite elements, my friend came to my house to see that good , Look good, the atmosphere at home are not the same.
- Q: We had redid our cupboards a couple years ago and still have to properly cover the hole that was left for the vent on the previous vent system. It looks like they used staples of some type but the way it is just needing 1 and a half (or less) tiles it‘s awkward.
- Most ceiling tiles have a tounge groove so each tile fits into another. When you are piecing in tiles it's impossible to get the tounges in the grooves without breaking them. I would suggest, cutting off the tounges with a razor knife and install with Liquid nails or some other construction adhesive. To keep the tiles in place while the glue is drying, cut a 2X4 long enough and put it under the tile while the glue sets up. You might want to put a towell between the tile and the 2X4 to keep from damaging the tile. For the 1/2 tile, score the backside of a tile with a razor knife then break it in half.
- Q: The tile I have has some asbestos in it .How do I dispose of it. Also somebody also said that the glue has some of it in it,True or False
- Your talking about vct vinal composite tile and yes the old ones do contain asbestoes as does the glue, called cut back should be black in color. Its best to call an abatement contractor, but if you insiste on doing it yourself just protect yourself. Were gloves, eyeprotection , air resperater, and disposible overalls like painters use, and make sure you have good ventalation, add fans. Once the stuff gets in your lungs its permanant and no way to reverce the damage.
- Q: we have an outside toilet which has been removed and we are wanting to change the room in to a washing room. it is a brick out building and the brick has been painted, how easy is it to tile over this and how could it be done?
- Without seeing the wall it's difficult to say. With an uneven surface like brick it would probably take too much thinset to be stable. To do properly, the bricks either need to be removed, or covered over. You could apply concrete to the wall, but that would be hard to finish smoothly if you're not a pro. You could erect a wall out of wood as a facing and tile over that. If you put up a wall it needs to be substantial to support the weight of the tile.
- Q: I want to remove really ugly ceramic tiles from my bathroom walls. I want to do this without destroying the plaster wall underneath. What‘s the best way to take them off? Is this going to be a big job? Thanks in advance!!
- Do it very carefully. Use a flat edged mason's chisel and hammer. Lay the chisel against the wall or as close to the wall as possible. Tap on the head with a hammer until the tile comes loose. No matter how hard you try, you are going to knock some plaster loose. It is a lot of work.
- Q: We have an installer, whom seems to be doing it wrong. I can‘t find any website that explains how to install tile the way he is doing it. Can you tell me if this sounds correct?First he puts mortar on the bare cement floor, then put down versa-bond or a bonding agent.. and then he puts more mortar on the tile and then lays it down.. Does this sound right to you? Thanks
- Versa bond is a thin set brand name. It s a good thin set too.So I m not sure what you mean by a bonding agent. And putting it on the back of the tile is a method ( slow method) of setting and leveling tile. I would have to know the trowel sizes that he / she is using before passing a final judgement. I would use a bigger notched trowel on the floor and just a thin smooth coat on the tile back. Both methods will level tile and ensure a full coat of thin set for tile to bond well to the floor. - Q: Dont judge me, but can i install tile and drywall in a camper, without cracking, chipping, etc.
- You'd have to really rigid up the walls if you are going to pull it around much. Is it paneled with wood now? Drywall is going tomake it heavier tool
- Q: We recently remodeled our kitchen and are now ready to apply something between the counter and wall cabinets. We are thinking of tile. Our cabinets are a light oak. The counters are a marble looking blend of grey, blue, beige. Our appliances are beige. What color tile would look nice for this? Also, could you use 12x12 tile vs 4x4 or the smaller tile or is smaller tile better? We currently have unpainted drywall. Can you install tile with drywall behind? Or do you need that other type of backing?
- you can put tile on drywall, no-prob! prime it first to make it water-proof. i use pro-block. here is a link to help you with colors. have fun!
