- Q: 1995 Honda Civic1.6L V-TECH Motor v4This is a good car there is only one problem the engine overheated and melted the plug wires. I replaced the Part but needs to have plug tubes cleaned out due to melted plastic. I need help from a mechanic expert about this as i do not have the tools to do the job but i could get them tools.
- unless the melted plastic interferes with the new tubes or spark plugs, there is no reason to try to clean the plastic out. if you can get the plugs out and put new ones in and put the wires on with no problem then just leave the residue in there...it won't hurt anything. you are talking about a major undertaking if you want to remove the tubes to clean them. The valve cover has to come off to get to the tubes and the tubes are usually pressed into the base of the head so the head may have to come off as well. you might want to just pull the wires and try to use a rat-tail file down into the tube to scrape away the excess plastic on the inside of the tube (leave the spark plugs in place if you try this so the filings don't get into the engine). Then use a vacuum cleaner to suck the filings out of the tube before you put the wires back on. I'd recommend that as the best thing to do if the burnt plastic is a concern. Otherwise, I'd leave it alone. hope that helps

- Alex, If you have a Top Fin filter which you hang on the outside of your tank while the tube is inside the tank, then no you shouldn't be seeing bubbles. You could have connected the extension tube incorrectly into the energizer well. Try removing it and replacing it again. This should allow the intake tube to pull water up and through the filter. You probably already know this - but remember to add water to the top of your filter so the filter will begin operating correctly. If you still have problems, go through your instruction booklet again...:) (Nosoop4u has a great suggestion as well..) Have a good day!
- Q: i'm making a science fair project and its on Ferrofluid (or a liquid like magnet) and i'm trying to create a generator by placing the liquid in plastic tubing. but the problem (obviously) is that is i don't seal the two open ends of the tube the liquid will drain out. what can i use to block the tubing?Oh almost forgot, my substance is a magnet so it can't be any material that can possibly conduct electricity.
- i would probobly go with maybe a silicone based adhesive, caulking maybe? like what you use around bathtubs n such. it sets fairly quick, adheres to most materials and is waterproof. hope this helps.

- Find a lowes or Home depot near you and go to the plumbing section where they sell hoses by the foot. Most carry the latex tubing your looking for. I just passed right by a roll of the stuff earlier when i was there.

- You don't. The tubes contain mercury (in a VERY minute amount) and should not be opend up for any reason other than disposal, which only recycling firms are allowed to do. There IS another alternative however, and that is the plastic safty cover for them. They are sold at the big box stores, Home Depot and Lowe's, and likely in other places as well. The link shows some *specialty* covers but there are also plain, clear covers for them, though I admit that the colored ones give you a much better idea of what to look for. Al
