- OH boy! I have seen this kind of jury rig job before! You will likely have to cut open the wall around the pipe to get to the leak. If it is galvanized pipe in the wall, you need to measure the outside diameter of the connection, (probably a tee) and go to your home center and get a Fernco connector. This is a black rubber connector with hose clamps on each end. You need one that will fit over the end of the fitting in the wall, and then you can tighten it with a screwdriver. Now you can go to PVC pipe and do whatever fittings needed to make it fit the sink drain.

- Putty goes under the fittings inside the sink, i.e., under the flange of a disposal. When you screw down the fitting, the putty squishes out, which you remove. Under there will be a tight layer of putty so the water cannot drain through the hole in the sink, but instead must flow down the drain.

- Hey trev, Just drain the float bowls and cover up the carbies real good with some wet towels, plug up the end of the fuel lines with some wooden dowel or an old bolt of suitable size, 6mm or 1/4, and then put the welding blanket over the lot and you'll be right. You only get problems with vapour exploding when you weld a fuel tank directly, just welding next to the carbies you won't have any vapour to ignite and the carbies won't get hot.
