- Q: How do I remove pen ink from a leather sofa?
- To remove ink stains from your leather sofa, dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and then rub it over the spot. Dry the area with a blow dryer. If the stain remains after drying, you may want to try using acetone-free nail polish remover. Rub a small amount over the stain with a soft cloth. The stain should disappear almost instantly. Once the stain is gone, clean any traces of the nail polish remover with a leather sofa cleaner. - You can't take off fixed cushions because, by definition, they are fixed in place. What you might try is getting a used sofa without fixed cushions. That way you can remove the cushions and re-upholster them before you resell it and go back to your sofa without fixed cushions.

- I like them both but their looks are very different. I would go with your first choice: The first one, the gray one is nice. It has clean lines and has the advantage of having 3 main back cushions. It is plainer, which can be good, because it allows you to add your own accent pillows, and does not sit on, what looks like a platform on the second choice. The second option, white and black, is also very nice. The disadvantages I see to this one are: 1) Its main color is white - if it will be used a lot you will always be having to fight with dirt and stains. 2) All the back pillows appear to be loose. I once had a sofa like that and people were always adjusting the pillows to find a comfortable fit. 3) Too many back pillows - once again this boils down to comfort. Have you ever sat, at length, on a sofa like this? Sometimes the pillows sit out too far and it makes for less seating room on the actual cushion. Again, not always a pleasant seating situation. I'd suggest you actually sit on both and see which one feels better to you. Then, you'll have a better idea of which sofa best suits your needs. Good Luck.

- Less contrast between the larger pieces of furniture and wall creates a more spacious feeling. It's really that simple. Obviously you want the walls to compliment the color of the furniture. You can look for paint strips that best match up with sofa and choose the lighter shade of your sofa color if you want a more neutral wall color. Take a cushion to paint store to find a color strip that matches up. Remember the sample color will appear more intense on a whole wall. While there, take other paint color strips and put with cushion and see what happens. You might find a green or blue that looks good with your sofa, which is basically a neutral and could go with lots of colors. Just don't go too light on walls as that will make the furniture appear bigger in the room. Before choosing the paint color be sure and decide on other items like draperies, pictures, etc. Look around and find these choices first. So you don't paint yourself into a corner. You don't just paint the walls and then hope to find all the rest of your decorative needs to go with the paint. Paint color is one of last choices to buy. If sofa will be in front of windows then your drapery choice comes first. Remember leather may look best with a more textured material to balance the weight of sofa--or a printed material.

- Definately not leather they make you sweat way too much. Get a sectional, no one said you need to put it together. Spread it out, it looks good. Never get a couch in a color you don't like.
